Chapter 78
Engulfed

As the room began to fill with death eaters, we were outnumbered. Cries from Harry erupted from the corner and James motioned for Lily to run. Sirius grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side, we both had our wands ready, "Love, If anything- I love you." Sirius breathes, "We'll be fine, I promise." I said trying to convince myself that everything would be alright, but I was never sure, this evil army was unpredictable.
"I love you too." I added before the fight begun.

There were fifteen to twenty death eaters, duelling the four of us in our living room, we were completely outnumbered. I was using wand less magic fighting three at once, but it wasn't enough. "Protego." I said, while watching the green light bounce off my protective barrier.
They weren't here just cause some trouble, they were here to murder.
"What do you want from us?" James yelled.
But nothing in reply.
"Fucking assholes." James muttered.
That's when the battle between us got a lot worse, spells were being shot left and right, and all I could think of was Lily and Harry.

I hope she apparated out of the house, but I have a bad feeling she didn't. It could be potentially dangerous for Harry, and Lily doesn't use apparition unless she has too.
"James, what do we do?" I asked. "What are our options?" James replied. "Leave or die?" I sort of laughed, which I shouldn't be.. especially in this matter. James didn't know what to say, "Go get Lily and Harry out." I whispered to him.
"I can't leave." he replied. "We'll be fine." I replied. With that James ran for Lily. Some death eaters began to retreat, but their was still at least ten. Ten against three.

"Y/n?" Sirius asked, "Yes?" I replied while still trying to duel multiple death eaters in front of me. "Plan?" He asked. "Don't have one." I replied, still focusing in front of me. "Confringo." I said, while spheres of fire, shot from my wand hitting two of the death eaters putting them into a state of confusion. The confusion caused them to leave. Only eight left.
"Stupefy!"
"Avada Kedavra."
A death eater and I yelled at the same time, making the red light from mine merge with the green of theirs. The green inched quickly towards me, I can't die. I used all the power within me to fight back, but I feel so tired all of the sudden, drowsy. My eyes are beginning to close out of pure exhaustion.

"Sirius." I whimpered, and he could tell how extremely tired I was, "Love.." He said concerned. He shot a simple spell to the person I was duelling, shooting them to the ground and the death eaters spell shot towards the roof. "We need to go." Sirius said to Remus. "Where?" Remus asks. "Hold on." Sirius says to Remus and we had apparated out of the house together.
As soon as our feet hit the ground, I felt my body go cold, and my limbs go numb, then everything was a bit dark. That's all I remember.

Sirius POV

She passed out as soon as we arrived at Potter manor, luckily Remus caught her quickly. We laid her down and made sure she was breathing, thankfully she was okay. I kissed her forehead before picking her up and carrying her inside.
I brought her upstairs to the room we always stay in. I laid her down, and I didn't leave her side. I wanted to be there if anything were to happen, and I wanted her to have a familiar face to wake up to.

A knock came from the door, "Come in." I said in a low tone, y/n clearly needed rest. "Just checking in. How is she?" James asked, with Harry in his arms. "Good. I think? She passed out as soon as we apparated here." I said, "What happened?" James asked, "No clue, maybe a sleeping spell, it's all odd." I replied.
"Strange. What did they want from us anyways?" I added, "One of two things. The invisibility cloak, or y/n." James replied. "Probably both." I said, but as soon as James mentioned her, anxiety filled my whole body.
"I'm going to go put him to bed, and help Lily, she's been stressed out of her mind for the past couple hours." James shrugged. "Night." I breathed, and when he shut the door I cuddled close to her, to remind myself she is here. She isn't gone, she's right here.

Y/n POV

I woke up to Sirius by my side, it was around 4 in the morning when I jolted awake, I sat up hyperventilating, maybe a nightmare.
What happened. Where did.. the last thing I remember was death eaters engulfing our living room. I'm so confused. "Love? Are you okay?" Sirius asked while sitting up beside me. "Ye. yes." Is all I got out while still trying to get to a steady breathing pace.
He placed his hand on my lower back, while telling me to inhale and exhale calming me down, I laid my head on his shoulder and sat their in fear. "What happened?" I asked. "We don't know." Sirius replied. "What happened to me?" I asked, "We don't know that either. I'm sorry." Sirius apologized. "Don't apologize, none of this was your fault." I stated.
"I hope so, I'm so sorry love, I tried to protect you, and obviously I didn't." Sirius said, "I don't need you to protect me." I smiled, "Oh you definitely do." he smiled back.
We eventually both lied down, and I fell asleep in his arms. His arms were where I felt the safest, it felt like no one would hurt me when I was with him, when I was with the love of my life. Merlin I don't know what I did to deserve him, but i'm forever grateful cause I love and care for him with my whole being. And couldn't have asked for more. I love him. I love him. I love him.

The following day,
Y/n POV

I received a letter with a black wax stamp, delivered by a jet black owl. Strange.
I opened it and began to read,

You're in danger. Hide. It's your only option. He's out for you.. and your friends.
You will lose everything you love, cherish and hold dearly, if you don't hide.

My hands began to shake, and the letter fell right out my hands. The dark lord is definitely not dead.
And we're all in trouble.
