Five weeks.
Five fucking weeks.
They'd lasted five weeks after she moved to Liverpool.
He stood at the door to her apartment, shaking his head, and laughing at the thought. How they'd even lasted this long was unbelievable. Looking around the room for the very last time, he pulled the door closed behind him. He walked down the stairs, tripping over that uneven bottom step once again. Fuck he hated those steps. He hadn't even had time to get used to them. But he'd never have to worry about them ever again.
This was the last time he'd ever trip over those stairs.
He was done with this place.
He rounded the corner, the rapidly fading sunshine making everything glow with a soft golden haze. She was leaning on the side of his car, her head back, her face trying to capture the last rays of it as he walked toward her.
He stopped right in front of her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing her up against it. Jas curled her arms around his neck, pulling his body into hers like they were resetting to their default position. He kissed her gently, and as he pulled back, she smiled up at him with that same relaxed contentedness she'd had since they left the villa. She lifted her chin to him again, angling for another kiss, and he happily obliged, sighing into her lips. He wished he could pause time and be here forever. Right here was his happy place. She was his happy place.
He pressed a kiss to the end of her nose, and smiled at her. God he adored her.
"It's all out," he chuckled. "I checked every single cupboard, every drawer, everything. You are one hundred percent officially moved out."
She laughed, kissing him gently. " Oh no! I'm homeless !"
He pulled a set of keys from his pocket, grinning. "And these are yours. So now, you officially live with me."
"I'm no longer homeless! Yay! That was fast." She giggled.
Bruno hugged her tightly, his heart racing as if he'd just won Love Island all over again . "I've been waiting for this day for..."
"Five whole weeks. How ever did we hold out so long?" Her voice told him it was a joke, but the way she was looking up at him made it pretty clear that it wasn't.
"What about in the villa? I wanted to live with you then, too."
She smiled. "Okay... eight-and-a-half weeks, then?"
"Mmmm. Eight-and-a-half weeks of wishing that one day I'd get to wake up next to you every morning. And now I will. " He attacked her face with a barrage of soft kisses, his lips barely able to stay pressed to her skin he was smiling so hard.
"But... you already have been? We haven't spent a single ni..."
"Shhhh, irrelevant " he insisted, her laugh making him feel just as warm inside as it always had. "Now I get to officially say, ' This is my girlfriend and we live together' "
"Best looking roommate I've ever had, that's for sure." Jas chuckled. She ran her fingers through his hair, smoothing it back into place. He needed a haircut, he was sure of it. He looked down at her, her sparkling blue eyes meeting his as she turned her attention back to him. God he loved when she looked at him. And the way she looked at him.
They'd been hesitant to spend too much time together once they left the villa. They'd wanted to try and settle into normal life as soon as possible. Work. Shows. Doing the media shit they had to do. Get used to not seeing each other every second of every day.
