Jas woke up the following morning to a shrill chime right next to her head. She looked at her phone, and had to stop herself from gasping.

Jas, please get up and get ready. You and the other girls are going shopping for Prom. The car leaves in ten minutes.

She heard Valentina's phone chime in the bed next to hers, followed by Angie and Thabis. The other girls slipped out of bed, grinning furiously at each other. She slipped out of the bed to follow, but turned slightly to look at Bruno.

Oh my fucking god .

She'd never appreciated how bloody adorable he looked while he slept. His hair was all floppy, and his arm was stretched out from where he'd had it wrapped around her. His knees were pulled up, clearly a little cold, so she pulled the covers up a little to cover him. He groaned a little in his sleep, snuggling in under them.

Her heart skipped, and she smiled at him.

He's so fucking beautiful .

She slipped into the changerooms, and found the girls excitedly getting ready.

"Jas! Hurry! They said we've only got ten minutes!"

She grinned, prioritising her hair. She needed it to look good so she knew how to wear it for prom. She threw on some very light makeup, got dressed, and checked her phone. Two minutes left .

She ran back into the bedroom to look at Bruno one more time, and found him just starting to wake. As he stretched out his arms, she leaned down on the bed and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, whispering to him.

"We're going shopping for prom, I love you more than anything in this entire world. Have a lie-in and I'll see you later."

He groaned happily, and snuggled back into bed. She grinned, and ran downstairs to meet the other girls, jumping into the car, trying not to squeal with excitement.

The four of them stepped into the dress shop, absolutely chomping at the bit to get into some nice dresses. Thabi squealed, running to the racks and immediately looking through them. Valentina zeroed in on a rack of long, black dresses.

Jas held back waiting at the door, knowing she needed to play it cool to avoid overwhelming the woman beside her.

She snuck a look at Angie, and wasn't at all surprised to find that she looked terrified .

"Don't worry, babe. No one's expecting you to be in a ballgown."

Angie frowned. "Is it weird that I'm more nervous about this than I am about the finale?"

Thabi looked surprised. "Really!?"

Angie nodded.

Valentina wandered back over. "Is it just a long dress thing?"

Angie shook her head. "It's the whole event of it. Makeup. Getting your hair done. Some girls just find it so natural, and they look so elegant, like they do it all the time. Like, you guys are all gonna look amazing. I feel like I'm gonna look like an idiot."

The other two girls cooed over her, telling her how beautiful she was going to look.

Jas just shrugged.

"Then let's just find you something you don't feel like an idiot in."

Thabi and Valentina both grabbed a few dresses for them each to try on, and Jas send Angie into a changeroom to wait.
