"Officer Cayman requesting back up for a hit and run just off the graveyard road, we've got a young man under the influence and a young girl, looks about 18, unconscious from car impact. Ambulance is enroute but it's just me and my partner out here, somebody's gotta book this kid."

Jay sighed as he looked at his radio. He didn't have the energy to deal with a rookie's DUI, but it'd been pretty dead for the last 4 hours of his nightshift and the boredom was driving him up the walls. Picking up his radio, he ran his hand over his face as he pressed his thumb into the mic.

"Detective Jason responding, I'm in the area, can you hold him for ten minutes?"

After a couple of seconds the radio crackled on.

"Yes Sir, appreciate the help."

As Jay pulled up on the graveyard road he saw the ambulance by the girl who had been hit, and the squad car parked not far down the road. One of the officers came over to Jay's car as he stepped out.

"Officer Cayman?"

"Yes Sir, you're Detective Jason?"

"Yeah, what's going on?"

"So we've got our guy in the car, resisting arrest, drunk out of his mind."

"Uh huh, and what about the girl?"

"Jane Doe, she's out of it, looks like she was in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"No ID. Did you check for prints?"

"Not yet, but honestly I don't know what to make of her."

"Why do you say that?"

"I don't know, maybe I'm just being presumptuous, but she's got this crazy black stuff all over her face and neck, her arm too."

Jay just frowned. "Black stuff? What do you mean?"

"Like...like veins, or something, I'm not sure, it's like a tattoo or something, but she's got this scar," Cayman gestured to his chest, right below his left collarbone, and Jay immediately ran over to the ambulance.

"Hey! Wait! Wait," He slowed as he reached the paramedics, who were about to close the doors.

"We have a potential collapsed lung, she needs a hospital."

"Just let me see her." He jumped into the back of the ambulance.

Part of him had hoped, but was ready for the disappointment, and that disappointment turned to shock relief as he looked at the girl lying on the gurney.

"Lennox."
