All of their questions were stifling to Lennox. She had no idea how and no desire to answer them, so to take the attention off of herself she played her trump card; bringing Kaila into the house. Skye was lucky not to pass out from shock and happiness, and Caleb didn't know what to do with himself. But still, Jay noticed that Kaila had more of a reaction to seeing everyone than Lennox did. With everyone preoccupied by Kaila's appearance, Lennox had five minutes to herself, so after spending ten minutes with the group she ducked into the kitchen. She'd seen Jay go in there a few minutes beforehand and was curious as to why he wasn't as gushy as Caleb, Skye, and her dad. He was stood by the sink when she went in, and after letting the door close behind her she went over to him as he raised an eyebrow at her.

"Too many tears?"

"Something like that." She replied, leaning against the counter behind him as he turned around.

It was silent between them for a few seconds, as though they were both struggling to find the words. Jay broke the quiet first.

"I thought you weren't coming back." He looked her up and down.

She shrugged as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Yeah, well...changed my mind."

She glanced at the kitchen door, Jay studying the black veins on her face. She was still beautiful. As angry as he wanted to be, he felt that his glare was laced with a hint of admiration, trying to ignore it as best as he could. But he didn't look away even when she turned back to him, so his gaze made Lennox stand up straight and turn slightly to her left as she noticed where his eyes were fixed. Her reaction snapped him out of it, and he cleared his throat as he shifted on his feet.

"So," He started. "Kaila's back, huh? How did that happen?"

"I figured it out. I told you something was waiting for me, I found Kaila trapped underneath the manor." She explained briefly.

When she didn't continue her explanation his eyebrows went up. "That's it?"

"Pretty much."

"You followed your memory and found your best friend who we thought was dead for two years? Nothing to add?"

"No, I don't think so." Jay just sighed as she frowned at his frustration.

"What?"

"No, nothing. I just thought that maybe you'd have more of an explanation as to what happened two years ago. Where you went afterwards. Why you left us thinking you were dead."
