"Lennox?"

'No, that's a terrible idea.'

"Lennox are you listening to me?"

'Why is it so important for me to feel again Jay?'

"Lennox!"

Lennox snapped out of her day dreaming after her professor yelled her name, seeing everybody in the class looking directly at her as he frowned.

"You with us?"

She took one look at the board to remind herself of the lecture topic, glancing around at everyone and then nodding.

"Yeah, sorry."

"You want to answer the question for us?" He gestured to the question on the board, Lennox reading through it as one of the girls let out a laugh.

"There's no way professor, unlike Lennox, some of us actually take this class seriously. I'm ready to answer it."

"Just hold on Steph. Lennox?" He was giving her the chance, but the only thing happening in Lennox's head was a replay of the night before.

Professor Ashmont was generous, he gave her at least thirty seconds, but the distraction of Jay and his voice made it difficult for her to focus on the question. The professor sighed, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

"Alright, lets recap the question. A 65-year-old female visits her doctor with complaints of chest pains and difficulty when climbing any set of stairs, but she's otherwise in good health. Upon further investigation her doctor finds a slow rising pulse, and a blood pressure of 130/100. During auscultation, he also discovers a murmur. We have five options for the type of murmur it could be, ejection systolic, pansystolic, mid-diastolic, early diastolic or continuous, which is it more likely to be and why? Extra points for explaining your answer."

Stephanie put her hand up first, and he pointed to her. "Stephanie, go ahead."

"Thank you Professor Ashmont. The answer B - pansystolic murmur. The female complains of chest pains alongside the difficulty climbing the stairs, coupled with a pulse with slow-rising suggesting that there's most likely other cardiac problems, such as a valvular issue, and if she's using problems with the way her blood is pumping through her valves, such as one of them working properly and having to work overtime, it would cause the high blood pressure exhibited in her presentation."

"Very good."

"That's what happened when you actually pay attention, you should try it sometime." Stephanie smiled to Lennox as Professor Ashmont spoke.

"But you're wrong."
