'Kaila just seems...evil. It's like she has this dark energy going on'
His own words and Skye's echoed in Jay's head as he walked across to the bar. Patrick was waiting outside for him, and he waved when he saw Jay. Despite both being busy, they'd made the effort to meet up a drink or a walk every couple weeks to keep in touch and up to date on each other's lives. It was a nice constant for Dr Rosewood, to have a friend outside of work that he could spend time with, and he'd found Jay a comforting addition to his social life. For Jay, it was comforting to have a close relationship with Lennox's father in case...maybe he was being optimistic considering he hadn't spoken to her in months and he didn't see it changing anytime soon, but he still cared for Lennox more than he wanted to admit, so it was nice to have unprompted updates on how she was doing. Dr Rosewood was easy to talk to, and he was a friend outside of the crazy things Jay saw on the job. When he reached Dr Rosewood, the first thing the doctor saw was the bruise outlining Jay's orbital bone and he frowned with concern.
"Oh my gosh, what happened?"
"Nothing, just a run in with a suspect." Jay explained briefly.
"Well are you alright? That looks pretty bad Jay."
"It's not as sore as it looks, I'll be alright. You ready?" He nodded towards the bar door behind Dr Rosewood, who glanced at it and then turned back to Jay.
"Actually I thought we could walk, is that alright?"
"Yeah, fine with me."
"Thank you."
"No problem."
The two men walked through town catching up on the last few weeks, grabbing a coffee at a coffee shop on the way before continuing their walk. Jay was enjoying hearing about Dr Rosewood's hospital antics with Will, but after reaching their midpoint at the coffee shop the conversation had changed focus.
