Jay battled his conscience for three days after that. Keeping a secret that big from Patrick, although it was what Lennox wanted, was something Jay considered wrong, unforgiveable almost. But he'd be betraying Lennox by going against her wishes, whether he thought something was different or not. Then again, he was hurt from the way that she'd acted with him; it was almost as though they were strangers. But, strangers or not, Jay couldn't keep it to himself any longer. After his shift he headed to the Rosewood residence, noticing that Patrick had company when he arrived. He squinted, recognising Caleb and Skye through the front window. He'd watched long enough for Skye to notice him and wave, running to the front door to open it.
"You got my text!" She beamed.
"What text?" He frowned, accepting her hug as she spoke.
"About meeting up tonight, for Lennox?" She smiled as she pulled away from him.
It suddenly dawned on Jay that today was the two year anniversary of Lennox's disappearance.
"Oh. That text." He said in a dull tone, not attempting to hide the fact that he hadn't seen such a message.
She dropped her head slightly.
"You forgot."
"I'm sorry, it's been a busy day."
"It's cool, you're here now that's all that matters. Come join us." She led him into the house, Caleb and Patrick greeting him normally as a sudden wave of nervousness washed over him.
Patrick alone, he could handle. All three of them, not so much. But as fate would have it, the three of them found out without Jay's input that Lennox was alive and well when she made a sudden appearance at the household. None of them had noticed until Patrick came out of the kitchen holding a glass of wine, which subsequently hit the floor after looking towards the front door to see his daughter walking towards them.
"Oh my...Lennox," He said faintly, Caleb managing to catch him when he lost his feet.
They all turned, gasping and gawking at the sight of her as she looked around at them all.
"This is nice. Mind if I join?"
