"So what happens now?" Kaila asked, snapping Jay out of his admiration.
"Now the case goes to trial, so it's not over yet, but with Bentley's confession it'll be quick and easy. We'll probably need Lennox to testify too, if you're okay with that."
"Oh absolutely, do you think we can get a settlement out of the family?"
"Probably. I should go, don't want to leave Rawson alone with Brittany for too long."
"Thanks for everything Jay." Skye said gratefully, standing up to hug him.
"No problem. Actually Lennox can I talk to you, for a second?" Jay glanced at the car as the girls looked between him and Lennox.
"Sure." She frowned.
When the girls didn't walk away she turned to them. "I'll catch up with you."
"Okay." Skye nodded, pulling away a hesitant Kaila as Lennox swiveled back to him.
"What's up?"
Jay watched the girls walk away, waiting until they were completely out of earshot before speaking. "Sarge watched the interrogation Rawson and I did with you, he thought that your behaviour was...odd."
"Which part?"
"The whole...not caring thing."
"Oh, you mean he picked up on my psychopathy, as you put it the other night?"
Jay sighed as she crossed her arms over her chest. "What about it Jay?"
"Look, I asked to be the one to tell you. He called Dr Monroe, at the hospital, who talked to your dad and they've both agreed that they want you to be evaluated." She rolled her eyes, sighing as he continued. "I know, but apparently Dr Monroe has been speaking to those you've had consistent contact with since coming back, your dad, Will, he talked to me, Caleb a couple days ago too."
"Caleb? That makes sense actually, he's been avoiding me. Fine. When does he want to see me?"
"Whenever you're available."
"I have classes all week."
"I told him that."
Lennox narrowed an her eyes, analysing the image of her schedule she had in her mind. "I can go tonight, when I'm done for the day."
"Okay, I'll let him know, when do you finish?"
"Four thirty."
"Alright." Jay pulled his phone out, making a note to remind himself as Lennox looked him up and down.
"You want to come with?" She asked suddenly.
He looked up from his phone. "To the hospital?"
"Yeah."
"You...do you want me to?"
"Why not? At least then you'll have your answer. You can pick me up, I'll see you later."
She started walking away, and Jay felt the smile try and push its way onto his face as he turned towards the car.
