"Lennox!!"

There it was - the voice she recognised anywhere.

"Jay?" She stared out at the field for a mere moment before hurtling herself down the stairs and out the front door.

The wind was picking up enough speed to mildly obstruct her hearing, but the sound of Jay struggling was not to be muffled by any wind.

"Lennox I need you, come on I know you can hear me- no let me go!!" His voice amplified like a crescendo, allowing Lennox to finally determine where the sound was echoing from.

She turned to her left, and was greeted by the sight of Ekaterina walking out of the tree line towards her, with Evelyn close behind her dragging Jay by a chain around his ankle.

"Jay, what are you doing to him?! Let him go you're hurting him!" Lennox exclaimed, running towards them as Ekaterina smiled.

"That's the point, isn't it?"

"Stop! Ekaterina what are you doing? How are you even here?"

"Oh I just thought you could use some company. He can't hear you. Neither of them can."

"Why? What happened, what did you do?"

"It's called co-existence for a reason Lennox. Right now we are within the threshold between the real world and your subconscious. I am a creature with access to both, which means I have the power to stand between realms."

"And what about Jay? Why did you bring him here?"

"Because there's been a slight change in my plans, and I thought you should be aware of them. See, it's taken me this long, but I've finally realised that he is nothing but a burden to my cause. Deadweight, as one might say."

Her words and mischievous smile were enough for Lennox to quickly understand why she had brought Jay.

"No." Lennox stepped forward, but was quickly stopped by a glamour that kept her from getting to Jay. Despite having no trouble penetrating the glamour put in place by her mother shortly after Jay's initial abduction, one set forth by Ekaterina was far more powerful, and needed much more time to navigate around - time neither she or Jay had.
