Lennox's blank expression made Rawson's hairs stand up on the back of his neck. She was completely emotionless, Jay saw it too, but neither of them knew what to make of it.
"Okay. Sounds like a rough night." Rawson nodded, still absorbing her story.
"For Skye, sure. I had a nice time." She responded.
"You had a nice time? At the party? Or when you beat the crap out of the Dean's son?"
His question made Lennox resist a smile. "Do you really want me to answer that?"
"Alright. Do you know how much damage you caused to Bentley?"
"No, but I wasn't too hard on him."
"You don't think so?"
"No."
"Well would you like to know what his doctors said?"
"Yes, actually, that would be great."
Expecting her to say no, Rawson gazed in disbelief before reluctantly opening Bentley's medical report from the incident. He'd already read it once, and it wasn't something he wanted to read again.
"Dislocated finger, broken wrist in two places, fractured collarbone, black eyes, and you basically shattered his nose. He needs a minimum of three surgeries, and his parents are pressing charges because he's been told he can no longer play his baseball games for at least half the semester."
Jay was just as mortified as it was the first time he'd heard the extent of the damage, but Lennox didn't look phased. If anything, she was hoping for more detail; she was fascinated by how easy it was for Bentley's bones to break.
"You want to say anything about that?" Rawson asked her.
She looked between them. "No."
"Nothing?"
"Is there something I'm supposed to say?"
When neither of them responded she let out a laugh. "Let me rephrase, is there something you'd like me to say?"
"Yeah, how about sorry?" Jay said suddenly.
"Ah. He speaks."
