'Think about the gift you have Lennox...think about the power you would be responsible for bringing into the world, you could change everything.'

Lennox hadn't said anything on the drive back to campus. Her mind wouldn't stop racing, replaying the words her mother had spoken at the manor. What she'd asked of Lennox. All she wanted after getting out was to be safe, and with Jay she knew she was safe. Not wanting to be in the sorority house, she went in to grab some clothes before coming out and getting back in the car, Jay driving them back to the safety of his apartment. He made coffees for the two of them whilst she changed, leaving her dirty clothes on the floor of his bedroom and going out to the living room.

"How did you find me again?" She asked.

"Skye called me this morning. She was worried because she hadn't talked to you all night, and then when she checked your room in the house you were gone, I said I'd have your phone pinged. Evergreen forest, just like last time."

"Thanks." She carefully took the mug from him as they moved over to the couch.

"What were you doing out there anyway?" He sat in the armchair next to the couch, facing her as she watched the steam billow off the hot coffee.

Do I tell him? What if he gets hurt? I don't want to keep secrets from him anymore.

Keeping her head down, she cleared her throat quietly. "The manor didn't burn down."

Just like always, she had Jay's full attention. He stared at her in shock. "You...what are you talking about? Lennox, you told me-"

"I know what I told you." She looked up at him as he went quiet, almost on the edge of his seat.

"Well are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Really. I know what you're thinking, but I'm still here aren't I? I came back this time."

"Somehow that doesn't make me feel better. What happened Lennox?"

"You were right about Kaila, that's what happened. She kidnapped me, after you dropped me off yesterday, I woke up this morning in the field with her. I turned around and it...it was just there. Nothing had changed. What I saw two years ago, when it burned down was just an illusion, what it wanted me to see. It was never gone Jay."

"Jesus. Why did she take you there?"
