He was right; on the bed by the pillow there was a bloody tube that had been used to release the trapped air in Lennox's chest cavity, along with the drawers to the supply cabinet left open. Will checked it.

"Couple of bandages, dressings, some nylon is gone too. She's got the supplies to stitch herself up." He turned to Jay, who kept shifting his weight as he nervously glanced out into the hallway.

"She's never acted like that man. Something doesn't feel right, I don't like this."

"Then tell Patrick."

"I can't, she asked me not to."

"And you trust her? After the way she acted with you?"

"No. But...it's Lennox, what am I supposed to do?"

Jay circled on the spot as his brother watched him sympathetically. He knew exactly why Jay didn't want to betray Lennox's word, but he didn't want to be the one to bring up old feelings. He thought of an alternative response, shrugging his shoulders as he pocketed his hands.

"Look, I can do damage control here at the hospital. But anything past that is on you."

His response was good enough for Jay, who nodded as he looked back at him.

"Okay. Thanks."

"Don't thank me yet, I'm the one that's gotta work with her dad later."

He left Jay in the hospital room, walking down the hall as Jay stayed put to think about his options.
