"High priestess,"
With the ancestors on their knees, Ekaterina watched over them as they praised her. Her eyes fell on Evelyn, recognising her as the mother of the recurrence.
"Evelyn Rosewood. Stand." She said softly.
Her voice was calm but commanding, with a natural echo that was gentle enough to add an ethereal tone to her words. Evelyn rose to her feet, her eyes meeting Ekaterina's as she did so.
"You completed your task in providing the recurrence. Your part was pivotal in the success of my rebirth; for that I thank you, and am indebted to you."
"It was my pleasure, you owe me nothing your grace. It was an honour to be a part of your cause."
"You will be much use to me in my journey here."
"Anything, priestess. Whatever you could want for, you will be provided for in this world. We have a gift for you."
"A gift?"
"A welcome, from us to you." Evelyn turned, gesturing to Jay.
He glanced between them as the priestess faced him, letting out an audible gasp at the sight of him. "Drew," Her eyes lit up like shooting stars as she drifted closer to him. "Is it possible?"
She pressed her hand against the glamour, somehow knowing it was there, staring into the box as Jay firmly pushed his back against the the pane. He wanted to look away, but felt drawn to the very sight of her. She was Lennox, after all. Her smile was beautiful as she observed him, removing her hand from the pane before the glamour suddenly burst. Jay rolled onto his back, but didn't hesitate in his attempt to shuffle away from her whilst restrained. Instead, he was dragged towards her by her magic until he was laying only a few inches from her feet. She drew her hand to her chest, causing Jay's body to rise into a standing position, and with a swift tug, the cloth gagging Jay fell to the ground.
"My love." She seemed gentle, and kind, and after softly running her hand over his cheek she pressed her lips against his.
His shock was evident on his face when she pulled back, but she took no notice and turned to face Evelyn.
"The perfect gift. You're spoiling me Evelyn Rosewood."
"I thought he would make you more comfortable throughout your transition, your grace."
"You are a considerate woman. I trust you are all prepared for the next phase of your journey."
Her eyes fell on each ancestor as they all nodded in unison as they created a smaller circle, gathering around Ekaterina as the sigils on her skin began to gleam with light.
