"Hey it's me. Listen, I know we didn't get a chance to talk much this morning, and I know how worried you are about everything, but I just wanted you to know that whatever happens next, we're gonna be okay. I love you, that's all that matters. I'll call you tonight."

That was the last message Lennox received from Jay, and her third time listening to it since he'd left it on her voicemail that morning. She'd been in class when it came through and her phone was on silent, so she didn't hear it until she'd come out of her first class. Ever since, she'd been anticipating Jay's phone call, replaying the first thing she would say upon answering it;

'Hi, I got your message, I love you too'.

She was excited to say it back. But Jay never called. After a day of classes and visions she'd tried and failed to ignore distracting her from her work, she couldn't wait to hear his voice at the end of the day, and was counting on the phone call that never came. Her three phone calls to his cell went unanswered, and as late as it was with no response from him, not even a text to check in, had Lennox worried about him.

"Maybe his phone died while he was out and he hasn't had a chance to charge it yet." Skye had suggested.

"Or maybe he's just busy." Caleb had countered.

But somehow Lennox knew that something wasn't right, so she called Will since he was on call at the hospital. He sounded rushed as he answered the phone, the call cutting in as he was yelling an order to someone around him before paying attention to the line picking up.

"Lennox, sorry, what's up?"

"Hey, sorry I know you're busy, I was just wondering if you'd heard from Jay."

"Jay? No, not since this morning when he called to tell me about Kaila. I'm sorry Len, that's rough."

"Yeah, thanks. So you haven't talked to him?"

"No, I figure he's pretty swamped right now. Were you expecting him?"

"Sort of, he left a message this morning saying he'd call tonight, but it's getting late and I haven't heard from him."

"You tried his cell right?"

"Three times, he didn't pick up."

"Maybe he's staying late at the precinct, call Casey, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Listen I gotta go, try not to stress okay?"

"Okay, thanks."
