Chapter 48: Red Lotus Attack

(Three days later)

Y/N's P.O.V

So, the past few days have been crazy for us in Zaofu.

Lin and Suyin had a fight, but managed to sort out there problems, Korra and I learnt how to Metalbend.

Mind you I can only use it while in the Spirit State, but it might be useful in the future.

And earlier today Kai and Opal went to join the other Airbender's at the Northern Air Temple.

We'll be leaving Zaofu to find more Airbender's.

I come out of the bathroom and walk into mine and Korra's room.

Y/N: Man, I'm tired.

Korra: Well, it has been a long few days.

Y/N: True.

I get into bed with Korra.

She rests her head on my shoulder and cuddles up next to me.

Y/N: Hey, so I've been thinking.

Korra: That sounds mysterious. What's up?

Y/N: Well, I was thinking once we've found more Airbender's and dealt with Zahear and his crew, we should take a vacation. Just the two of us. I mean it's been so long since it was just the two of us together.

Korra: That's true. We had the Water Tribe civil war, Harmonic Convergence, the Dark Avatar. And now we're finding Airbender's to rebuild the Air Nation.

Y/N: Exactly.

Korra: So, where would we go?

Y/N: I'm not sure. I hadn't thought that far ahead.

She giggles.

Korra: Of course, you haven't.

She pulls herself up and sits on top of me.

Korra: Well, a vacation sounds great. When do we go?

I sit up and wrap my arms around her.

Y/N: When the Air Nation has been a bit more established and once this Zahear threat is dealt with.

Korra: Okay.

She smirks.

Korra: You know, we are alone right now and we will be for the whole night.

I smirk.

Y/N: That's true. And I think I know just how I wanna spend this time.

I flip her over and she giggles. I then lay on top of her.

Y/N: I love you, Avatar Korra.

Korra: I love you too, Air Master Y/N.

We kiss deeply.

As it gets more heated I pull off her tank top.

This is gonna be fun.

(Three hours later)

I wake up and look outside to see that it's the middle of the night.

Korra is resting her head on my shoulder and she's sound asleep.

I gently move and place her head on the pillow.

I then go to the bathroom.

A moment later I come out and see that Korra is gone.

Y/N: Korra?

I see Naga is out of it on the floor.

She has a dart in her leg.

I look up and see the window is open.

Y/N: Oh, shit.

I jump out of the window and look around.

After that I see a group of four and one of them is carrying Korra.

Y/N: No!

I run after them.

When I catch up I see Mako and Bolin fighting them.

Y/N: Hey!

I shoot blasts of air at them and they take off.

I go over to Mako and Bolin. We're then joined by Asami.

Mako: We can't let 'em take Korra.

Asami: I don't think they'll get far. Look.

We look over and see Zaofu guards trying to take them down.

All of us stand up.

Y/N: Man, who are these guys?

Just then the group gets surrounded by metal plates.

A moment later the ground around the group turns to lava and melts the metal plates.

Bolin: No way. That guy's Lavabending. That's awesome, but not good for us.

We get behind cover as their Combustionbender fires at us.

We also see that one of them is an Airbender.

He must have gotten his powers during Harmonic Convergence.

Mako, Lin, Bolin and I fire at them from behind cover.

We're then joined by Su, Wei and Wing.

Lin: How'd they get in here?

Suyin: I don't know, but we're not letting them escape.

Y/N: Well, we need a new plan, because our current one isn't exactly working.

Asami: There's no way to cross that moat.

Suyin: We don't need to cross it. Lin and I can drop in from the dome on cables.

Lin: That's a great idea, except we'll get blown up the second that third-eyed freak sees us.

Y/N: No you won't. I'll cover you.

Lin: How?

Y/N: I've got a plan. Just get into position on the dome. I'll be right back.

I sneak away from the fight. I need to get to Lucky.

I blow into my whistle to call Lucky.

A second later he flies in.

He comes around and I jump on to ride him.

Y/N: Come on, Lucky!

When I get back to the fight I see Su and Lin making their way down to get Korra.

They manage to get her and make their way back up.

Y/N: Come on, boy. We gotta cover 'em.

As we get closer the Combustionbender spots them.

Y/N: Now, Lucky!

He fires near the group and we fly past them.

As I come around Zahear on a rooftop.

Lin's right. He's an Airbender now.

Zahear: Ah, the famous Air Master Y/N, the Airbending Prodigy. It's been a long time.

Y/N: Zahear. It has been a long. I'm not that same little kid you meet ten years ago.

He nods.

Zahear: I can see that.

Just then he hits me with a blast of air and it pushes Luck back.

Y/N: Whoa, whoa.

Lucky manages to regain control.

Y/N: Whoa. Easy, buddy.

I look over and see Zahear is gone.

I then get hit with smoke and when it clears the whole group of gone too.

Lucky lands down and I get off him.

Y/N: Where'd they go?

Mako: No idea, but they're gone.

Y/N: Yeah, for now.

We need to find out where they are now and what they're next move is.
