This oneshot takes place in an alt universe where zerobaseone isn't a thing but I will still be using their songs.

"Love you too and see you soon."

Zhang Hao was a well known name in the kpop industry for one main reason. Ever since he released his solo mini debut album 'Youth In The Shade' on July 10th, 2023, Zhang Hao's been quickly rising in popularity with currently millions of fans. He was first introduced to the world when his company, Wakeone Entertainment, created a survival show for their trainees to pick the next boy group. Sadly though, Zhang Hao was one of the 4 trainees to be eliminated in the last episode and shortly after the survival show ended, Wakeone talked with Zhang Hao about debuting him as a soloist. Zhang Hao was beyond happy at the chance of becoming an idol again and immediately agreed. The soloist informed his parents soon after and made plans to celebrate with them at his favourite restaurant that evening.

That's where he met his current boyfriend, Kim Jiwoong. Jiwoong had watched the survival show Zhang Hao was in since the beginning and him being the idol Jiwoong was hoping to debut, Jiwoong was quite pissed when he got eliminated. However, right before Zhang Hao was announced to be a soloist, Jiwoong broke his phone and was going to pick it up as it got fixed. He stopped at this restaurant to get dinner first and ran into Zhang Hao as he was leaving with the food. Since Jiwoong was in a bit of a rush, the two didn't have much time to talk but Zhang Hao gave Jiwoong his number for when he gets his phone back.

Tonight's a big day for both Jiwoong and Zhang Hao. It's the duo's 1 year anniversary of dating each other and Zhang Hao had a concert later that night. He managed to get front row tickets for Jiwoong and it was the older's first time seeing one of Zhang Hao's concerts so he was excited. This brings us to the dialogue at the start where Woonghao had spent the morning together but Zhang Hao had to leave at around 1pm to head to the concert venue and prepare. During this time, Jiwoong was planning something for Zhang Hao and took the hours before the concert to prepare it. He was praying that Zhang Hao would like it as he hasn't tried anything like this before. Meanwhile, Zhang Hao was sitting in front of a mirror, recording a Behind The Scenes vlog as a stylist put the finishing touches on his hair and makeup.

"Zhang Hao, you ready? Concert starts in 15 minutes" one of Zhang Hao's staff members, Yujin, came in to inform the idol.

"Well... yes and no" the soloist replied, "I am ready for the concert and everything but I texted Jiwoong if he's here and he hasn't answered yet. What if something went wrong and he cant come?"

"Try calling him this time? Maybe he just didn't get your text or something like that. It's probably not that bad" Yujin assured.

"Let's hope that's what happened."

"I'll be back in five minutes to come bring you backstage. Hopefully Jiwoong answers by then" Yujin then left the room along with the stylist so Zhang Hao could have some privacy.

As soon as Zhang Hao called Jiwoong, the older answered, "Are you here yet, Jiwoongie? The concert's starting in 15 minutes and I have to be backstage in 5."

"I'm about 7 minutes away. Don't worry, I'll watch your performance even if I'm late. I'm not gonna miss it."

"Just hurry, okay? This is my first concert that you're coming to and I really don't want you to miss it" Zhang Hao was increasingly getting worried with every second that passed.

He wanted Jiwoong to be there.

"Hao, I promise. I'll be there. Please stop worrying. I don't want anything to happen and you cant perform" Jiwoong could sense his boyfriend's anxiety from behind his phone.

"Okay... I love you, Woongie."

"Love you too."

Jiwoong hung up and immediately sped up the car because Zhang Hao's worrying had hit him too which caused Jiwoong to worry that there wouldn't be enough time to set up the surprise he had. Like he told the younger on the phone, he was determined to make it to the concert even if he got there late or broke a few laws. Jiwoong eventually made it but not to risk anything, he had to wait the eight minutes before the concert started before going backstage. Since the staff knew of his relationship with Zhang Hao, he just made to show some id then was backstage. Jiwoong caught a glimpse of Zhang Hao on a platform that was rising him up to the stage before the younger was out of his sight and he started setting up the surprise.

Zhang Hao stepped onto the platform at five minutes before the concert started. He could hear one of his songs faintly playing in the background as his fans sang along and the light that the lightsticks cast throughout the arena. The soloist then heard the music stop and be replaced by a countdown to 8pm. He gripped the microphone in his hand, fingers curling around it, making one last silent prayer that Jiwoong was gonna be in the audience before feeling the platform shift then rise. His fans' screams grew louder as Zhang Hao appeared on stage, greeting them with the same level of excitement. Zhang Hao scanned the large crowd in front of him for Jiwoong and locked eyes with the seat he was supposed to be in but wasn't. The young idol's heart immediately broke, feeling betrayed but he pushed it far back so as to not let it ruin the concert and continued with the first song.

~ At the end of the concert ~

Sweat beaded down Zhang Hao as he caught his breath, finishing the last few seconds of the last song for the concert. He ran to the water bottle he set down near the edge of the stage and downed the rest of it in seconds before ending the concert with a small speech. He walked off the stage not having seen Jiwoong once and started regretting the fact that Jiwoong said he was coming. After Zhang Hao switched outfits in the middle of the concert, he arrived back on the stage with hope that Jiwoong was there only to be proved wrong. He began thinking that the older had no interest in going to his concert and was currently at home, pretending to be leaving for him.

The soloist grabbed the fan one of the staff gave to him and turned it on the highest setting, being blasted with cool air. After a couple minutes of standing still and cooling down, he started walking back to the dressing room to change out of his now uncomfortable stage outfit and into something more comfy along with calling Jiwoong again. He walked into the dressing room and reached for his phone that was in his bag only to see Jiwoong standing a few meters in front of him with a bunch of stuff behind him. Jiwoong saw the confused look on the younger face's and immediately started explaining.

"Listen, I know you might be mad at me for not being in the audience but I can explain why. I was back here setting up everything I got you and was gonna watch the second half but I wouldn't be able to get back here in time so I watched from backstage. I feel bad that you didn't see me at all and I hope you can forgive me" Jiwoong paused, waiting for Zhang Hao's answer.

Zhang Hao instead pulled the older into a tight hug, "I love you too much to be mad at you. Just please tell me if this happens again. I thought you didn't wanna come."

"Of course I did. And I couldn't tell you because it'd ruin the surprise."

"Just shut up and let's go home. I'll open the gifts you got for me there."

My ATE album came in right before Stay's birthday and I got a free photocard from the place I preordered the album from because it was a preorder. I got the Boom ver. and the photocards I got were Felix, Chan & Changbin, and Minho as the free pc. Minho was staring into my soul as I wrote this oneshot. 

I was watching the new mv for 'Stray Kids' and the mv fit the song perfectly. And the original scenes for their older mvs mixed in with the recreations of those scenes in this mv... istg Stray Kids is one of the best kpop groups.
