Jongho was never one to be very open about things nor did he like to be dependent on people as he thought it wasted people's time or he would be seen as needy. So, when Jongho ends up being sick, he chooses to hide his sickness and act like he was fine. And this usually works since Jongho would feel better before anyone could figure out what he was doing. If one of his fellow members seemed to be getting suspicious about Jongho, the maknae would play it off and it would soon be forgotten.

This morning, Jongho woke up to a familiar feeling in his throat and the pain that came when he tried clearing his throat. As Jongho sat there trying to get rid of the burning in his throat, it seemed to stay, possibly even getting worse. Jongho pushed the blanket off of him and slowly got up, making his way to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Luckily, both Hongjoong and Wooyoung weren't in the main area so there was less of a risk of Jongho getting found out. The idol grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water, downing it in seconds before grabbing a bag of cough drops and unwrapping one to suck on while he got ready to leave. As Jongho was leaving, Hongjoong came out of his room and Jongho slid the cough drop under his tongue to hide.

"Oh! Morning, Jongho. It's still a little early so I'm surprised you're awake. There's still time left if you wanna sleep for a couple more minutes" the captain smiled, oblivious about Jongho's cold.

"Morning, hyung. I think I'll start getting ready. I'm not that tired" Jongho replied, putting on a fake smile to fool the older.

"I'll be quiet if you decide to go back to bed. I'll start on breakfast in a few minutes" Hongjoong finished before walking past Jongho to the kitchen so he could start on food.

Jongho started walking back towards his room to get ready for the day but not before sneaking back into the kitchen to grab the cough drop bag. Hongjoong had his back turned to the youngest as he made coffee to get ready to deal with his hyperactive member and didn't notice Jongho. Jongho quietly shut the door in case Wooyoung was still asleep and tossed the cough drops onto his bed. The cough drop was barely doing anything to help Jongho's throat and he'd have to get rid of it soon so as to not choke during dance practice. ATEEZ would be filming a few interviews after dance practice so Jongho could suck on a cough drop then.

Jongho was finishing getting ready for the day when Hongjoong called out from the kitchen, stating that breakfast was done. He spat out the cough drop into the garbage bin near his desk before leaving his room and following Wooyoung to the dining table. The food scraped the back of Jongho's throat as he struggled to swallow each bite, still refusing to tell the members. Jongho had done this multiple times and although it hurt, he'd suffer through the pain if it meant keeping another secret from his fellow members.

~ A couple days later ~

It's been a couple days since Jongho had gotten sick and yes, the maknae's cold had worsened with each day that passed. The severity of Jongho's cold made it harder to hide it from the rest of ATEEZ and Hongjoong and Seonghwa were the first members to feel something was off with their youngest. Seonghwa approached Jongho during one of their breaks while at dance practice, asking what was up with Jongho. Jongho lied, saying that this dance practice was making him more tired than usual. Seonghwa quickly understood as the group had gone longer than usual without a break. ATEEZ was called back to the middle of the room and Jongho downed half his water before being pulled off the couch by Seonghwa to join the rest of the group.
