Taehyun woke up to the regular sound of his alarm going off from his phone on the nightstand near his bed. He groaned, rolling over and cracking his eyes open just enough to shut off the alarm before laying back down, facing the ceiling. Taehyun felt like absolute shit and he wanted to lie there and pass out but he knew one of the other members would eventually come to wake him up. The idol sat up, realizing just how tired he truly was and stared at the wall in front of him, eyes shifting down to rest on a bracelet a MOA made him. Finally, Taehyun shoved off the blanket and slowly rose to his feet, the shit feeling coming back to him. His head was pounding like he just got a concussion and he was shivering from the cold, on top of the fatigue Taehyun already had.

He grabbed the blanket from his bed, wrapping it around his body and walking out of his room to the bathroom to find something to fix his pounding head. Taehyun found a bottle of Tylenol and swallowed the pill dry before leaving it on the counter and walking out of the bathroom. Despite waking up most likely sick and wanting to sleep it off, TXT's "ACT: PROMISE" tour was coming up so being sick wasn't an option. Taehyun crept his way into the kitchen where Soobin and Huening Kai were making breakfast. Beomgyu and Yeonjun were in the living, playing with the group's Nintendo Switch so the leader and maknae assumed it was Taehyun.

"Morning, Taehyun. Your alarm was going off for the past five minutes" Soobin chuckled and looked over at the younger, "What happened? You look horrible."

"I feel horrible too" Taehyun rasped, voice barely over a whisper.

"Taehyun hyung, are you sick? Your voice sounds really bad and I wouldn't be surprised because of how busy our schedules have been" the youngest reached to feel the older's forehead, feeling the heat almost instantly.

"Maybe. But our tour's coming up so we have to start practicing and I don't wanna let MOA down by not being on stage."

"Hyung, your health is way more important than some concert. You should be resting instead of working while sick. And you should get rid of the blanket. You're burning."

"First off, I'm freezing and taking it away would only make me colder and second, I'm sure I'll be fine by the time the tour starts."

"Okay fine" Soobin admitted, "We'll let you practice but we'll be keeping an eye on you. And the whole point is to cool you down. Having the blanket could raise your temperature."

Taehyun reluctantly unwrapped the blanket and handed it over to Soobin who went back to Taehyun's room to put it away. The leader soon came back with a thin sweater than Taehyun could put on for a bit of warmth (not too much though) and a thermometer. He checked Taehyun's temperature, finding it to be 39 degrees and was weirdly relieved that it wasn't higher. Huening Kai made Taehyun some tea for his throat then sent the older to the living room to tell Beomgyu and Yeonjun about the fever.

Some minutes later and breakfast was finally ready, a bit later than expected because Huening Kai made some slices of toast for his hyung as it would be better for him to eat. Taehyun slowly munched on the toast, mind occupied by how much worse he was gonna feel at the end of the day. Yes, it was his decision to go but he was starting to regret it ever so slightly.

~ At the practice room ~

The group finally made it to the practice room to find a slightly annoyed dance instructor. Yeonjun approached him while the rest of the members were warming up to explain that Taehyun had a fever and to go easier that day, even if it was just on his dongsaeng. The dance instructor turned from annoyed to surprised when Yeonjun mentioned Taehyun's fever. Yeonjun was quick to add that it was Taehyun's decision and talked about why Taehyun was choosing to practice instead of staying home to rest. He agreed but told Yeonjun that if Taehyun seemed to get worse or he got concerned about him that practice would immediately end. Yeonjun was okay with that and they got started.
