Chapter seventh four

a few days later;

After doing a lot of planning Pedro and I had decided to take a trip to Las Palmas, to visit his parents. Now that Mateo knew we were together again, we knew it was time for him to meet his abuelos. But before that, we planned to tell Eric, Olivia, and all our friends about us. I was nervous to see how they'd react, but I excited that we didn't have to hide anymore.

Mateo has taken this news very well. Of course it doesn't change too much since we've already been coparenting very well.

I was out on my run this morning, while Pedro took Mateo to fútbol practice. It was weird still living with Eric and Olivia. After we return from las Palmas, Pedro and I talked about moving in together. Ultimately this was the best decision for us to continue as a family.

I returned back home after my run, and got ready for the day. Since I had the morning off, Olivia and I were going out for breakfast. I showered and got dressed before doing my makeup.

"Nani! You ready?" I hear her voice call out as the door shuts. I make my way over and nod.

After breakfast, we head back home, and find Pedro's car parked outside. Practice must be over.

We walk in where Mateo and Pedro were sitting at the table. Eric was getting ready for practice.

"Mami!"
"Mi amor, you're so sweaty" I smile and kiss his forehead. He grins up at me and proceeds to show me his small bruise.
"Oh no! Did you cry?"
"He didn't. He took it like a champ" Pedro replies. Mateo nods.

"So I have practice now but I have to run home first. I'll see you for dinner tonight?" Pedro looks toward me.
"Yes, that's great. Good luck" I reply as he heads off.

I prepare a quick snack for Mateo and he begins to watch tv.

Pedro POV
I arrive back home and to my surprise there's a car in my spot. I roll my eyes as I immediately realize who it is.
"This can't be happening, not today" I sigh to myself.

I walk out and smile as my neighbor waves to me. She's the sweetest older lady who's always out doing her gardening.

As I walk up my driveway I notice Tania seated outside.
"Pedro! What the fuck? Why did you change the locks?" She says giving me attitude.
"Tania, I told you to leave me alone. You can't be here, we're over" I roll my eyes and push past her.
"I still have things inside!"
"What things? Everything you didn't take I sent to your brothers house"
"Well I'm missing some things!" She yells louder.
"Tania! Shut up! You're making a big scene and it's getting embarrassing. You need to leave, you're not coming inside" I yell back.
She grabs onto my shirt and tries to take my keys, I push her away, causing her to fall onto the lawn.
"Ugh! That was it Pedro! You really did it this time, I'm coming for you, just you watch" she rolls her eyes as she wipes off some blood from her knee scraping.

So pathetic.

I grab my gym bag and head out quickly toward practice, hoping she's just being crazy.

Delaney POV
"We're so happy for you both" Olivia smiled as she and Eric stood up to hug us.

We were having dinner at home to share the good news with them. Everyone was so supportive and excited. I couldn't believe that this was our new reality. Going forward, we didn't have to hide. We didn't have to sneak away, or use the smallest opportunities to be together. Pedro and I looked at each other and smiled. He held my hand in his and squeezed it tight.

We went to bed that night, finally being able to be ourselves and to be together.
