Chloe's POV
A nightmarish experience...I'll probably use the staircase incident but make myself the one being pushed. In the process, I tried to picture the feelings and process of being pushed down the stairs just like my previous father, using descriptive words I have learnt during my journey of reading. With the ideas in my head, I just translated them into words, but not just any random words. Ones that flowed and told a story, meaningful but fancy. It's like I knew how to write about a story about a traumatic injury just by being pushed down the stairs.

Each question made sense to me the minute I read it. Without a second doubt, I wrote down the equations I had to use to solve the question, slamming the keys of my calculator vigorously and scribbling on my answer script swiftly. There was no doubt I understood what I was doing for E Maths even without the tuition, as my mind was racing with flashbacks of all the times my friends and teachers guided me to understand the questions I couldn't fully unpack by myself. They brought light into my world with insights and logic I didn't even think about at the first read, and everything seemed crystal clear at that moment. Maybe this time, I'll finally catch up with the compass and call A my own.
Xingqiu's POV
The minute I flipped the paper, I recognised a question ever so familiar and heaved a sigh of relief. Ms Sumiko's teaching methods helped me to understand the different types of A Math questions they could test based on the framework SEAB* provided, and everything felt crystal clear. Like the characters of Harry Potter during the OWLs, I was easing through the whole paper, altering between my mind, my calculator and my pen. When all was said and done, I did one more check for careless mistakes, and boy was I able to find 10 marks of them!
Anika's POV
Biology seemed a little easier since the last test, and it was because I was able to find a different way to study. I started working with my friends that take biology as we all tested one another on the concepts and corrected one another when we slipped up. Compared to flash cards and traditional rote memorisation, I felt like I was actually learning something as I corrected people and got corrected. It was like refreshing the content in my head and the memory stayed a little stronger. My hands didn't feel as heavy as before when I completed the paper, rather; I was soaring through the whole exam.
Crystal's POV
Writing about adolescent rebellion in Romeo and Juliet felt a little easier this time. Rather than squeezing out explanations for what happened, I was able to give context for the scenes and unpacking what it all meant. The unpacking was easy; all the flashbacks when Mrs Nur and the 'compass' helped me all came back to me as I analysed what happened in Romeo and Juliet and why such a theme was so prevalent. This time, maybe this time, I was able to fulfil my dream of getting an A in literature once more.
Ningguang's POV
Fuck all the people that call their EOYs easy! Are they sick in the head?

My EOY was total shit! Chloe claims she was able to write about her nightmarish experience getting pushed down the stairs, but I don't even understand what's a nightmarish experience! Wasn't the question supposed to be just a bad dream? Anika, how can you soar through a paper when all you did was talk to your friends about what we've learnt? I did all the papers available and spent half the time during our biology exam spinning the pen and wondering what to write on the paper. Xingqiu, how can your mind alternate between itself, the paper and the pen so effortlessly? I had to squeeze out numbers from my head to even finish the paper! And back to you, Chloe! How can flashbacks guide you to the greater light as you finish your paper?

Why is everyone talking in literary techniques while I'm ranting about how tough it was?

i don't get it

I don't get it

I DON'T GET IT!!!
