This chapter parallels Chapters 121 (first half) and 122. I suggest reading both chapters after this one to have a better appreciation of the book!

No one's POV
8 point compass study together and clarify their doubts while they're at it. Keqing is learning how to achieve more while studying less. The other students in 3 Faith are learning how to study right and enough to pass all their subjects, but one is taking that too seriously...
Ningguang's POV
This year, I had made so many friends and precious memories with my new class. But before I knew it, September had come and it was time for me to cram for the end of year exams! I knew without a doubt I'd be cooked, because all year I only did some light revision right before I had a test, usually scrapping through or having borderline failures after that. But this is the big exam—if I fail more than four subjects, I'm cooked, especially for English! I knew there was only one thing I could do to save myself, drop the lifestyle I knew completely and go into complete mugging mode.

After school, I dashed all the way home, praying the bus I usually took would come a little earlier and drive a little bit faster so I would have more time to study. When I got home, I gobbled up all of my lunch and sprinted to my room, latching the door behind me. When it was time for history, biology or social studies, I did rote memorisation, copying all the statements in my textbook word for word. For the rest of the subjects, I was busy doing an endless list of papers, marking them, reviewing my mistakes and then repeating the cycle all over again. At least until I had reached my bedtime of 11pm.

"Yo Daphne!" I asked out of enthusiasm. "You wanna study biology together?"

"Not now!" She replied apologetically. "I think you should go and eat something first before you study! This is a really intense period, so you need to refuel as much as you can." I turned around and rolled my eyes, proceeding to ask everyone in my class if they were willing to cram some information with me but to no avail. They're so boring if they don't like to study during recess! Well, guess I just have to do all the cramming myself, which was definitely a stack of E Maths papers from home. Scribbling through the pages, I furiously smashed the calculator when needed. After all, I definitely had everything in order, enough to help me pass everything and promote to the next level!
That weekend
3 Faith Fun chat
Lucas: Tbh it's not characteristic of Ningguang not to spam this chat on a weekend...

John: Right? 80% of the messages come from her!

Jennifer: Maybe her phone got confiscated?

Crystal: Maybe it was her choice? I mean it's the exam season.

Daphne: Like a one hour chat with her classmates would kill her...

Ningguang: My phone actually wasn't confiscated, but I need to cram. Gtg, bye!

I logged off WhatsApp and decided to hit the paper 1 Mrs Raine gave us. Choosing the topic about how healthy eating can be practiced in our lives, I wrote till there was no tomorrow, trying to recall all personal anecdotes in my life about how eating habits have impacted someone. My pen didn't stop moving after a while and I only realised I had finished when my hand was shaking and aching. But whatever, anything to stay with this current 3 Faith, right?
