Crystal's POV
Using my own PLD, I found the slides I had prepared and got the slides to presenter mode, the first slide being that introducing us to the topic. I then set the slides aside, helping the girls retie their hair and using Anika's iPad as a mirror to retie mine. Nicole then adjusted the ties on our uniform, because we had been instructed to come in our official school uniform. As for the boys, Lucas managed everyone's ties while Ethan was casually swiping everyone's hair to make sure we all looked presentable. We then made sure no one lost their flash cards for the presentation and encouraged one another for this presentation in front of the school management committee. After all, this meeting could really make or break the future of all A Math students.
"Crystal, Chloe, Ethan, Nicole, Anika and Lucas," the principal announced. "You six may proceed into the meeting room now."
Meeting room
Crystal: Good morning teachers and members of the school management committee. I am Crystal Ong from 3 Faith and alongside me are my friend Chloe, Ethan, Nicole, Anika and Lucas. Today we would like to speak to you about Mr Williams' behaviour and why we believe he should be fired.
Anika: Throughout the year, Mr Williams' has been conducting lessons at a worryingly fast pace. He frequently speeds through the lessons, never giving anyone any time to process the information disseminated to them. Even when students suggest to him to go slower, at whatever tone possible, he refuses to listen and persists with his ways. This has become more prominent in the recent months, because he has been speeding through lessons even more simply because our class is extremely invested in after school activities.
Nicole: He is also shown to play favourites amongst his students. Not favourite-favourites, but he puts pressure and expects one student to do well to the point it is considered as obsession. When he's obsessed, he will give all the students tutoring and make sure they get A1s for their A Math.
Lucas: On the topic of favourites, he usually favours people with a busy extracurricular activity life. Let's say someone is in the musical and another person isn't. Regardless of grades, he's going to focus more on the musical performer to make sure the performer's grades don't tumble. He never considered the individual performance of everyone in the class. And where favourites are concerned, if his favourites don't perform, he'll go as far to shout xenophobic remarks and homophobic jokes at them!
Ethan: One of our classmates wasn't addressed by he/him when he got scolded and the Chinese race was being made fun of because his A Math test fell on the same day he was due for the Chinese exchange. Mr Williams even made fun of other races in the process. This drove him into a state of overwork and exhaustion to the point he developed a bad cold.
School management teacher: Judging by the evidence, it is definite that Mr Williams has broken a lot of laws. He must be fired or he'll continue to encourage toxicity in A Math classroooms. We wanted to change a teacher at the end of the year, but it seems like it's best to change now. You will be taught by Ms Sumiko with immediate effect, so your timetable would be changed to include her.
All: Woohoo! Thank you teachers!
Outside the meeting room
Mrs Nur: So how did the presentation go?
Anika: It was so good, we have fired Mr Williams successfully.
Mrs Nur: Really?! I can't express how happy I am for all of you. All of you have worked so hard for this moment, I'm sure everyone has saved 3 Faith.
Ethan: Thank you Mrs Nur!
Mrs Nur: Well, I think this isn't the end of the good news. Shay wanted me to tell you Crystal is going to perform at the Teacher's Day concert. So maybe failing your WA was worth it, to a certain extent...
Shay: And as an exception among exceptions, Ethan would be performing his solo too! Ethan has shown a lot of technical skill, but Crystal's motives and story behind her performance showed a lot of maturity and that she wasn't doing the performance for the sake of getting in. 2 solos!
All: What?!
Ethan: Oh my goodness! This can't be real!
Shay: It's real. Now, go have fun with your best friend!
Ethan drags Crystal's hand home, the other members of 8 point compass trying to catch up with them.
