Nicole's POV
Ambiguous daycare
At some random daycare, I was watching the kids play at the playground. Turned out watching kids was just for their safety as I let their imagination rein free. Being a kid was just yesterday, now I was watching kids grow up. Unfortunately, not everyone would be growing up with kids, not even their own.
Thankfully, I was able to take up this experience and be with other kids. I don't know if I'll have kids of my own yet but for now, I'll just be in the lives of the other kids.
Lucas' POV
NUS lab
Pouring in the yeast into the beaker, I mixed the mixture and then poured it into the fermentation vessel. I then sealed it and put it in the storeroom.
Honestly, I always saw organic chemistry as "interesting" so to say. But my love for this science just grew through this career taster. We literally get to experience the real deal and everyday we do a new experiment. I got to see what organic chemistry looked like after claiming about how much I loved it. Maybe this really is the path that's meant for me, and I can't wait to go to a junior college that can help me with just that.
YZ's POV
Nanyang Polytechnic-Another classroom
"Now that we've built the robot, we're going to command it," the instructor told me. I nodded eagerly and got to the controller to control the robot. Pressing the buttons to code the robot, it took me some trial and error and some guidance for the robot to be able to complete the course. But honestly, I didn't really think robotics would be fun. I guess I just overlooked it all this whole as I was spending hours on western orchestra stuff. Maybe I should consider coding robots in the future.
Jennifer's POV
The Smart Local
"And today at the Smart Local..." I greeted, the coloured desserts laid all over the table. We had practice working on the script based on the topics we were given. I was asked to try out local desserts with my group, and my role was the "face." They say it's the one that talks in the reels and is the highlight of the reel.
I dug into the kueh lapis in front of me and claimed that it was good because I had to come off professional, like it was the real deal. But deep down, I was gawking. I never really got to indulge in such fancy things because of my strict dietary restrictions. Having dessert for a career taster was a dream come true.
Daphne's POV
SEA Aquarium
Carrying the sardines to the dolphin exhibit, I plonked it down and threw the fish at the dolphins. They leapt up to me and ate the fishes up, before springing onto me and licking me. I embraced the dolphin for a moment before letting it go, because I must admit I'm not a ticklish person. But it was interesting to learn more about the marine life and what truly goes down in our local aquariums thus far. I didn't know every species of dolphins needed a specific kind of fish or they would die!
Fiona Chan's POV
Psychologist's office
"Now Fiona, you're going to say that you're on a career taster and try and ask them to find a referral? Here's a list of our psychologists here that specialise with trauma cases," my mentor advised me. I nodded and decided to reenact what they said. I managed to end the call smoothly.
I used to think just the receptionists take care of the arranging of appointments and vice versa while psychologists sit in the office to talk to people about their problems. I was wrong! They had to do that too! Receptionists were just guiding people to the place for the psychologist; the psychologists ran most of the show. I'll need to consider if I truly want psychology in the future.
