Iris' POV
"Iris~" Crystal greeted sweetly, and I looked up from my phone. There she was, dressed with a high ponytail and ribbon, her house shirt and track pants.

"We're in public," I told her. "Aren't you afraid you're giving yourself away? You're an esteemed figure in our school and possibly locally too."

"Well, everyone does that! Besides, you wanted to show me the Yio Chu Kang community centre, right? Let's go!"
Crystal's POV
The wooden floor of the dance studio was shiny as a small white light shone against it. The mirror was perfectly clean and my morning reflection shone with it. Placing my things down, Iris told me, "We'll check on the fairy cheerleading dance and then we can do any other dance you want. Anything in the musical, that is; I've got a 2 hours session for a reason." I got my poms poms and wasted no time in bouncing up and down with them.

"That's an improvement," she admitted. "The moves are sharper, but it doesn't have that 'fairy aura.' I think you'll need to make your movements 'softer.'" She then showed me ways of keeping my moves fast, but more elegant at the same time and it's like I was exposed to a new world of dance. Being used to technical dance, no one ever told me I was going to do musical theatre. It was a struggle adapting to a new style, but Iris had the patience no one else in our cohort had, not even me as company leader. We spent an hour on the dance, only to realise we had another hour and nothing much to do.

"Oh yes, I forgot to mention I've got lines too," Iris announced. "They just randomly picked dancers to have lines and I was the unlucky one. But thankfully it's not a lot. And then we dance and then it's your time to shine with some scenes at school. Let's work on your Omoi Yo Hitotsu ni Nare dance." I gasped, struggling to find words to ask her how she found out

"It's obvious. You've got your countdown after all with all the names in one. And are they seriously so hardcore to have two versions of the same thing, played by Chinese and western orchestra? But I love the plot, the two teams that compete have a literal fight, NO DANCING! Alright, I'm going to do this drama justice!"

We worked on the next hour, making sure we got the technical parts of the dance right. After all, the script said that Melody's group was winning first so we were forced to make the dance as perfect as a porcelain doll. Another hour passed, and we thankfully finished practicing the dance. Thank heavens they just had to do the TV version for both songs. I'd honestly die if they did the full version.

"So feedback: maintain elegance for fairy cheerleader dance," she remarked casually, as we packed our stuff and left the dance studio. "And make sure to go on the right direction at all times, I have footage of the dance after all. I did do my homework."

"Thanks, like I'll ever lose to you," I remarked back with determination. "See you later in the script, hm?"
Iris' POV
I get why she takes Literature in English too*. It's like she was able to pull puns easily and I was able to interpret them. After all, I was able to take part in the climax with Crystal, where Crystal and the other dancers (auditionees) audition to become the next generation of Wanderers.
* Iris takes Pure Biology and Chemistry, A Maths and Literature in English, albeit with Social Studies and not as one full subject
