Jennifer's POV
Pulling out the lunchbox from my sister's bag, I tapped her gently on the back. "Chloe, you have to eat something. I know you're struggling to cope with the whole Ethan breaking contact with you thing but you can't behave like it's the end of the world for you. I mean, think about it, you've improved in so many subjects."
"Aren't you like her biological sister or something?" Ningguang told me off in a rude way. "Just let her be, she and Crystal are Scorpios. If she wants to stay in class, she'll stay in class. Also, it's because the guy that broke up with her is on a plane right now."
Ningguang's brash comment seemingly sent shockwaves down everyone's spine. No one left the room and the room went seemingly silent, everyone going into whispers about what they should do. My heart pounded in my chest as they debated about what to do about the situation. Would they let her be, or would they drive her to suicide? I mumbled a silent prayer they would give her space to process her emotions, and not stuff her with comparisons—
"It's just Ethan, you should talk to John instead. Then you can smother him and feel all good again."
Chloe's POV
I'm sorry, just Ethan? Rage built up in me as I clenched my teeth, hands trembling. I slowly stood up like a mind slave to her own emotions and slowly rose up from my seat. Ethan was my whole lifeline, my whole identity! We have such similar interests and combinations, shouldn't we be together forever? And yet everyone has been treating us like an ideal couple forever, calling me dramatic when we had "broken up." I'm going to show him who deserves him: it's me, not Crystal.
Slowly walking outside to the railing, I went over the railing and tiptoed, getting ready to ultimately take the big step and jump off. After all, if I can't be with Ethan in the real world, maybe I could in another life. He needs to know we belong together. The thought of reunion sent me with adrenaline as a smile crept up my face, getting one foot over the ledge. Alright, the end is coming near now. I should be able to get the other foot over—
Fiona Chan's POV
I had finally rushed up to her, only to find a horrifying sight. Both her legs were in between the railing and she had a creepy big smile, eyes devoid of its light. The platonic breakup really affected her badly, and I wasn't going to let her die over a boy prioritising real friends over her. Pulling her hand, I whispered, "Chloe, get down." But yet, she refused to budge, making me forcefully pull her arm. You might be wondering "Oh Fiona, what if she breaks it?" "Fiona, what if her shoulder dislocates?"
Let her parents settle it.
I care more about her life.
I then proceeded to catch her in my arms, as we rested on each other, our breaths heavy and trying to return to normal.

Fiona Chan: People come and people go. You'll find a new guy.
Chloe: What do you mean? He was my everything! He was there until the last word of comparisons from the bullies, what do you want me to do without him?!
Fiona Chan: I actually didn't think you two would last, and I'm glad the unfriending happened.
All: Huh? What? Why?
Fiona Chan: Chloe is a lot more introverted and likes sticking to one group; Ethan would squirm at this concept. Chloe is very talented in art, Ethan can't even draw a snowman. I'm not criticising either of them; but if their values clash, they would struggle a lot to get along unless they have another common passion that isn't within their school subjects.
Nicole: Another point. It makes no sense. They literally play Roblox together.
Fiona Chan: Ok ok fine! What about their values on the inside? They obviously believe in different things, like Chloe values authenticity because she never stayed away from anime despite the seasons. Ethan values his reputation more, on the other hand. If their internal values don't even match, how can they be together? Crystal and Ethan both value reputation, but John and Chloe value authenticity. These are the pairings that fit much better than the pairs we have now! turns to Chloe Don't worry Chloe, I trust John
Chloe: Thanks.
