Anika's POV
"Now that our sharing has finished, we are going to the field for a game of friendly soccer!" Our teachers announced. Everyone cheered, while some of the girls asked if there was a more "feminine" activity. Nonetheless, I saw the German teachers nudging the girls and reassuring them, encouraging them to try something they wouldn't on a normal day.
Soccer field
All the boys of both nationalities warmed up to soccer quickly. Everyone's gazes were fixated on the ball and they communicated through telepathy, seamlessly passing the ball to the other team without any complaints. It was hilarious watching this honestly, but when I turned to the girls, I'd say they are the more hilarious ones. They were huddled in one circle, discussing who to send out to the field first. Half the girls from each country decided to go on court, which led to a game of tiny soccer. Tiny, because there weren't as many players as the boys.
But the girls playing soccer was truly a hilarious sight! Everyone was arguing over who gets control over the ball, and kept pushing the ball to someone else. Yet, when the ball ended up in the net, everyone cheered louder than the boys. The girls playing sports is truly an interesting sight, because they always have something up their sleeves unlike the boys that played soccer "like it was made."
Dorothy's POV
I am Anika's buddy, and today she was able to bring me into Geography lessons. Her geography teacher asked if I needed an extra seat but some tanned boy (Ethan) waved his hand and gestured to an empty seat. She led me to her seat, explaining she usually sat there for every lesson except her mother tongue lessons, so I was able to sit down.
This tanned boy turned over and introduced himself as Ethan, and he explained more about what we did in geography. We then had a lesson on plate tectonics where we had a chance to explore this concept through the use of Oreos. When it came to the different concepts, Anika let me have a hand at breaking the Oreos into different shapes to represent different states of the plate tectonics, which I thought was extremely interesting. Dorothy smiled throughout and had a lot of fun talking about what she learnt back in Germany, and our plate tectonic set-up was used as a model for the whole class!

Humanities classroom
"Today, we are going to make a local dish with play dough!" The art teacher announced. "I have lined up different colours on the table, you have a chance to choose whatever you want. Buddies, you may use your phone to check up what local dish there is, but only for that."
Typing "ice kacang" onto my phone search engine, she came back with 5 different colours of play dough and asked if we could work on the same thing. I agreed, because I thought it'll be easier that way. Since she was more artistic between us two, she did the bowl for the ice kacang, while I just had to take the dough and mash them up into one colourful lump. Once that was said and done, she helped me mould the random colourful ball into the real deal and we took a picture of the ice kacang, then a wefie together. Being able to expecting such a different culture from mine is such an enriching experience, I hope I can do this in junior college* too!
