Simon's POV
Timezone
"8 point compass is on a hiatus?!" I responded in shock at Ethan's words. We were just about to join the queue for the bumper cars when Ethan broke the news to me.
"Nothing has changed ever since lower secondary," he wistfully explained. "Her parents are now comparing her with her sister in the form of themed parties. I heard Crystal is not attending a Broadway party meant for her. And I think when it was revealed her sister got the main role for the school musical she just snapped and things just deteriorated. I think if we stayed as 8 when she keeps doing inhumane stuff out of jealousy one of us would actually die."
"Now that's my bro! Always so witty at problem solving!" I grabbed him by the shoulder and ruffled his hair, before pulling him to officially be a part of the Timezone bumper car queue.
Crystal's POV
Library
Huddled together, Christina and I worked closely on some A Math questions we couldn't understand, half the time serious, half the time giggling like dolphins. Yes, it was a case of blind leading the blind because we were equally clueless about what was going on, but she had topics I was weaker at and vice versa. And I got to learn new ways of solving problems, even if I wasn't fully sure they were all right. Surely, Ethan would've solved things faster, but sometimes struggling with someone makes the whole experience so much more memorable.
Nicole's POV
Nicole's house
"It's never been just the two of us, hmm?" I asked Chloe as I did her hair in braids. Chloe nodded, but not hard enough to jerk away. I had invited Chloe for a sleepover, and she's my best friend so we finished the two anime we were watching since they weren't "currently airing." Laughing and crying like idiots, we finally watched it with full emotions on. I did her nails and for once, she didn't look like she thought about the comparisons. She was just enjoying herself, doing typical sleepover stuff. At some point, she took charge in a social situation for the first time ever—she scam called people! I think she's doing better than ever; she didn't even think about her online content creating activities!
Keira's POV
Mixue-Ice Cream and Tea
"Lucas, always having good taste!" I declared, nibbling on my ice cream. "If it's not your clothes to hang out in, it's the after school snacks! I'm not surprised you're still the class monitor after this long!"
"And student conductor," he added on, winking. I could feel cheeks turn pink. Why was he so stunning? Even after falling out with his friends, he stayed unfazed, choosing to find other people to hang out with over moping over the platonic breakup. I do hope the group actually gets back together for real though.
Anika's POV
Ambiguous night market
Taking the ball, I threw it at the cans. They toppled and everyone cheered. "Congrats, girl," the pasar Malan (= night market) stall vendor announced in Chinese. "What prize do you want?"
"She wants to know what prize you want," Samantha informed me. I pointed to the light blue bear and she gave it to me. We grabbed the beats we earned at the sides and chatted casually as we proceeded to the benches. After all, I wanted to buy her a feast she could eat after everything she went through.
John's POV
Miniso
"Kuromi or Hello Kitty?" Daphne asked me out of curiosity. "You're not running away from this, you need GIRL THERAPY after your platonic breakup with 8 point compass."
"Hello Kitty," I replied, feeling my face burn. I wasn't used to being exposed to such girly stuff, maybe Laufey music at the very most. But Daphne decided to grab both blind boxes and pay for them with her credit card. She then dragged me to Starbucks and bought both of us frappes, where we opened our blind boxes. I didn't think Daphne would suddenly go wild, she was usually so calm and composed.
YZ's POV
Accessory shop
"WHAT?!" I screeched at the top of my voice when Jennifer slipped the silly headband on my head. Jennifer started giggling.
"You poor thing," she teased. "Your team has broken up, and everyone's not talking to one another. Of course I need to cheer you up. Let's get this and wear it for the rest of today. Because after we go shopping, we're going to Universal Studios!"
"You buy this for yourself!" I quickly slipped the headband on her head, but then she was quick to slip the headband from her head and picked up another one, then proceeding to the cashier without a second thought. What's with her and her social butterfly tendencies? Is she so rich she has the money to make people look silly?
