Crystal's POV
Holiday lessons felt like any other school day, but the lessons were definitely a lot more dense and intense. Lesson time has doubled, but I'd say it's the only bad part. I'm just glad I get to be with the compass again!

Each lessons ran a little bit differently, like English, where we went through our Paper 1 EOY in detail. Unfortunately, Mrs Raine did not stop with the jokes about Ningguang's paper as she spoke about what are some good pointers to take note of for future writing exercises and what to avoid. But honestly, I didn't mind the comedy. She was trying to make a tedious lesson more lighthearted, so I have to applaud that.

The other great time during holiday lessons were the breaks! During one break, Samantha came up to 3 Faith's window and banged it a few times. Jennifer gestured me to the window and I opened it, ready to chat with her for a little while.
-
Samantha: Yo, you've returned. What's up?

Crystal: Everything's good. Once we're done, we'll have a recess break and then it's Chemistry!

Samantha: Nice, it's my A Math break right now. So what are you going to do over the holidays.

Crystal: I'll be travelling to Paris and Australia, and I'm also down for some Girl Guides event. Also I'm assuming you're going to go for another church camp again.

Samantha: That's definite. We're going to Kuala Lumpur!

Crystal: Wow, that's great! I hope you'll have a lot of fun.

Samantha: Wait, you're not accompanying your parents on anything? Like any work trips?

Crystal: No one in our family is going to do fashion design or singing as a career, so we saw no point. My family is kinda stranded in Singapore as Jennifer really needs to be dedicated to her competition team, so I forgot to mention, I'm going to go overseas myself. Obviously it's not consecutive; I've learnt my lesson

Samantha: I won't disagree. Australia's in the south hemisphere, so it's like having to pack two different luggage. And Chloe?

Crystal: Her relatives would be taking her to Japan just to be fair to her. She's dying to become an animator there. As for Jennifer, she's going to New York for yet another competition.

Samantha: Yea, now that's called the real deal you're going for. Is she thinking of going to sports school? Cause I'm thinking either Singapore Sports School or a diploma in sports science next time.

Shay: SAMANTHA! Our break is over, y'know! forcefully drags Samantha back to class

Samantha: Alright, bye Crystal!
YZ's POV
Another great thing about afternoon lessons isn't about the recess or breaks, it's going home! It's true we still have to lock in to some extent, but as long as we followed our parents' directions when it came to studying, we could do anything we want! Crystal decided to take us for a really early dinner that day and a Photo Booth date.* We may have other friends, but after some time, we'll always find our way back to the compass. (You'll always find your way back home reference)
Family restaurant
"The hamburger steak you recommended is not bad," Ethan admitted. "You've got good taste."

My eyes glimmered at the budget sirloin steak I ordered. It's got to be good if they offer it here! I liked into the sirloin steak and let my hand with the knife cut it, before poking it into the steak and dipping it with the sauce. Guiding it into my mouth, I bit into the sirloin steak. They managed to make it taste the same as the Michelin version?! Savouring every bit of it, I finished the whole piece of meat while everyone in the compass shared about their holiday plans.
Photobooth
Anika's POV
To get 8 teenagers into one cubicle was a nightmare! Yea, we all got styled for this photoshoot but the worst part was fitting everyone into the cubicle. But once the worst part was over, Crystal hit the screen and the photo taking started. We had to follow the prompts given on the screen and photographed everything, laughing awkwardly and spawning with the first pose that came to mind. At the end, Crystal chose the frame and passed it to everyone, and we all thanked her profusely.

What a blessing to be in the same friend group as the most popular girl of Kallang Christian! Everyday has become an adventure thanks to the blessing she has blessed us with daily.
*we're talking about the same place in Chapter 37
