Hyunjin was comfortably sprawled on the couch, half-asleep as he listened to Felix's excited shouts from the floor. He could barely keep his eyes open, lulled by the soothing sounds of a video game in full swing. Minho was busy in the kitchen, the delightful smell of something savory wafting over to them.
Just when he felt himself drifting into a peaceful nap, his phone buzzed incessantly on the coffee table, jarring him awake. Groggy, he grabbed it and squinted at the screen. It was a message from Chan to their group chat.
'Hey guys, just a heads up—Jisung, Changbin, and I are feeling pretty awful. We're at the studio.'
Hyunjin's heart dropped, knowing instinctively that Chan was minimizing things. He could easily envision them huddled in that dimly lit room, working past exhaustion while ignoring their own health. They had a terrible habit of doing this—nights spent pouring their energy into melodies, forgoing meals, and drowning in caffeine.
He barely had time to process before Minho walked in from the kitchen, a scowl on his face, wiping his hands on a kitchen towel. "What's wrong? You look like you just saw a ghost."
Hyunjin held up his phone, a frown deepening on his features. "Chan just texted. He, Jisung, and Changbin are sick, and they're still at the studio."
Minho's expression darkened, frustration visibly bubbling beneath the surface. "Are you kidding me? I just spent hours cooking for everyone, and now three of them are missing? It's ridiculous!"Felix put down his controller, concern immediately taking over his expression. "Hyung, getting upset won't help. They probably thought they could push through it. You know how they are."
"It's not just about the food, Felix!" Minho exclaimed, his frustration palpable. "What do they think this is? Some kind of game? I could've cooked up a feast for them, and they're out there ignoring their health. It drives me crazy!"
Hyunjin took a deep breath, stepping in closer to diffuse the rising tension. "Minho, we all know they're stubborn. But yelling won't fix anything. If anything, it'll only make them feel worse. We need to think of how to help them."
Minho hung his head in indecision, his emotions a mixture of anger and concern. "I want to go over there and drag Chan back myself for being so careless. He should know better!"
Hyunjin placed a reassuring hand on Minho's shoulder, grounding him. "I get it. I really do. But what we need to do is reach out in a way that shows we care, not just vent frustration. They might not admit how sick they are, but they could use a little care right now."
"Yeah, but they won't listen to me," Minho muttered, gaze falling to the floor. "What's the point if they'll just brush it off?"
"Then let me go," Hyunjin offered. "I'll swing by later with some food and medicine. They won't be able to ignore that."
Minho hesitated, his frustration visibly dissipating. "And you think they'll actually eat it?" It was more of a question than a challenge.
"Especially once they smell it. We both know Jisung can't resist your cooking, even when he's sick. He'll eat whatever I bring." Hyunjin smiled to lighten the mood. "And if I have to, I'll make a point of force-feeding him soup until he relents."
