Suitors and Traitors

"What was your favorite subject in school? And you can't say english." She asked.

"History" He answered, "It's more than just dates. It's politics and drama that not even the best books couldn't manage to capture."

THE NINE SAVIORS OF THE WORLD HAD VERY LITTLE DIRECTION, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

They knew that Gaia was rising in Greece. At the very least they were heading in that general direction. Did they have an exact location? Not even close. They also knew that the giants were rising, likely to be their biggest threat. Did they have any other idea what they might have to face? Of course not. Percy had made the jokes that it was one of the more exciting parts of a quest.

With monster attacks becoming less frequent, and rest was agreed to be needed slightly more often. Almost everyone managed to get themselves into somewhat a normal schedule, barring time changes and the single person that was on guard duty at any given time. This freed up enough time in the day for them to try and figure it all out. Anything. Ace and Annabeth combed through her laptop that held an extensive library of myths. Percy and Arya were in the water every couple of hours talking to sea animals, trying to see if they had any insight on the ground situation in Greece. Frank and Jason did the same thing in the sky. Piper checked her dagger constantly to see if any new vision would come about.

Every Night at dinner they shared updates. Every morning at breakfast they met to see if anyone had been given any weird dreams.

Mentally, things were up and down depending on the hour it seemed. Sometimes everyone was in a great mood, making jokes and laughing. Other times something would trigger a reminder that nine demigods were on their own to fight Giants that required a god to be killed, and there was a very good chance that one or none of them were going to make it out alive.

Emotionally; Ace couldn't figure out what was going on.

He had prepared for everything when he confronted Arya the day after her Luke confession. Ready for her to keep him at an arm's length, or even isolate him completely. He had even prepared for a world where she had somehow gotten over all of it and realized that she did like him to.

What he hadn't prepared for, was for her to act completely normal.

Well, normal wasn't the best word to describe her. Something had changed over that night. When they met for breakfast Ace noticed it immediately, she walked with a lighter step, her face wasn't nearly as guarded; perhaps there was less to guard. Not only that but she joked, and teased with the others. She seemed less on edge.
