I frowned.

Viad stood up slowly, bloodied but still smiling.

I walked toward him, my eyes cold and sharp.

But he showed no fear.

He braced himself.

“Avrora-sama, wait!” Rose shouted, running toward us.

Rose nodded slightly.
“He’s Viad... the man I once told you about. Please... spare him.”

I froze. The world seemed to stop.

Viad...? Then he’s—

“Hey, why are you hesitating? If you're going to kill me, hurry up already,” Viad said bitterly.

I clenched my teeth, emotion surging.
“You worthless... SCUM!”

My punch sent him flying once more. He coughed, blood dripping from his lips.

“Ughh... Why aren’t you finishing me off? Or are you planning to torture me?”

“Why didn’t you go to her?!” I screamed.
“Why didn’t you return to Queen Eilaria?! She... she waited for you all this time!”

Viad fell silent.
“You... know her? Who are you, really?”
