The New Capital of Valdead and Sparks of Conflict
It has been a year since I began the grand reconstruction of my kingdom. Infrastructure, public facilities, railways, even magical trains—everything is now one hundred percent complete.
Valdead has transformed into a magnificent kingdom, more dazzling than any other I've ever seen in this world. Towering buildings, clean and well-organized streets, and flowing magical technology in every corner of the city.
And the people? They live in happiness. I never tire of seeing the smiles on their faces—faces that were once filled with fear and suspicion, now glowing with trust. They live as ordinary people should—living, loving, dreaming.
In the remote regions, I also built a water transportation system. I saw the potential for tourism there—the untouched natural landscapes, rivers that sparkled under the sunlight, and lush forests rich with the scent of damp earth. Thus, I created magic-powered water trains to connect those isolated areas to the capital.
Interestingly, the inhabitants of those regions are mostly beastkin—half-human, half-animal beings with unique traits. They’ve even started creating local delicacies and souvenirs that have become popular with travelers from the capital.
Ah, yes. Now, allow me to introduce the pride of my kingdom—the New Capital of Valdead.
If you walk along the city’s main roads and look up at the sky, you’ll see floating tracks resembling a roller coaster stretching across the blue heavens. That’s the Magic Rail Line—a masterpiece of magical technology I built to ease transportation.
And beyond those tracks, stands the grand Valdead Palace, a towering structure that pierces the sky and radiates magical energy throughout the land.
But that’s not all. I also developed airborne transportation powered by magic, as well as warships for defense and military operations. This kingdom is no longer weak. We have a special military organization ready to crush anyone who dares to disrupt our peace.
The railway line now extends to the Kingdom of Neverland. Through our close cooperation, the transportation of goods and passengers can now be done in just two hours—a massive improvement from the usual two-day journey by horse carriage. Every crossing gate is jointly guarded by Valdead and Neverland troops.
I also built a school—a grand academy open to all races. I brought in experienced teachers from Neverland for the sake of the children’s future in Valdead.
This evening, I’ll be hosting an important meeting to plan the official inauguration of Valdead’s capital. King Aldric and Queen Eilaria of Neverland will be our guests of honor. I’ve even prepared a lavish welcoming banquet for them.
All of this is for my dream: to create a world where humans and monsters can live side by side.
---
The next day, the Neverland delegation arrived.
King Aldric and Queen Eilaria stepped off the magic train with amazement on their faces.
“This is incredible,” said King Aldric. “Only two hours? It used to take two days…”
I welcomed them at the palace with a warm smile, but before I could even speak, he appeared from behind a pillar—Viad, that annoying man.
“Viad,” I hissed softly. “Behave yourself in front of our guests!”
“Hahaha, relax, Princess,” he replied with a wide grin.
I rubbed my temples. How irritating…
Once we reached the main hall, Queen Eilaria rushed to embrace me.
“My daughter… You’re amazing. I’m so proud of you. You’ve created a miracle.”
I returned her embrace with a warm smile—but the moment was immediately ruined—
“That’s right,” Viad cut in. “It’s because she’s also an—”
THUD!
My fist landed squarely on his face before he could finish his sentence.
“OWWW! What was that for?! I was just—”
THUD!
A second punch silenced him. I gave him a sharp glare.
“Say one more word… and I’ll kill you.”
“…Understood.”
King Aldric and Queen Eilaria stared at us with confused expressions. Prince Leon simply sighed deeply.
My mother looked concerned.
“Darling, wasn’t that a bit too harsh?”
“Aha… Don’t worry, Mother. He won’t die from that.”
King Aldric stepped closer. “Who is he, my daughter?”
“Huh? Him? Oh, just… a troublesome subordinate. Ahahaha…”
After that, I gave the King and Queen a tour around the city. They were clearly impressed.
“My daughter,” King Aldric asked, “How did you create all of this? You… don’t seem like someone from this world.”
“Ahaha… I just built what came to mind.”
“You’re a genius, Avrora.”
I only responded with a stiff smile.
Along the way, I overheard conversations among the visiting citizens from Neverland.
“This is… really a Demon Kingdom?”
“Incredible. It’s more advanced than our kingdom.”
“The monsters here are so friendly…”
“They’re so polite… I guess I’ve been wrong about them all this time.”
Hearing that, my heart warmed. That dream… is one step closer to reality.
That day, I gave a speech using voice magic that echoed throughout the city.
“Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming. I am Avrora, the leader of the Kingdom of Valdead. My goal is simple: to create a world where humans and monsters coexist peacefully. They are no different from us. Let’s live together in harmony. Thank you, and please enjoy the celebration.”
Cheers erupted across the city. They were united in joy.
---
Days passed. The name Valdead spread throughout the world. Its rapid growth shook the rulers of other nations—including the Demon Kings of the North, West, and East.
Elsewhere, Ryuka, one of the Demon Kings who held a deep grudge against Avrora, clenched her teeth.
“Damn you, Avrora… I will destroy you…”
She summoned her two subordinates—Alden and Zen.
“What is it, Ryuka-sama?” asked Alden.
“You two have grown strong enough. It’s time for revenge.”
Alden clenched his fist. “I’ve been waiting for this, Ryuka-sama!”
Ryuka grinned wickedly.
“Then get ready… It’s time to make our move.”
To be continued…
