A New Beginning in the Demon Kingdom of Valded

My first impression upon entering the Demon Kingdom of Valded? Terrifying. The towering structures loomed in darkness, covered in carvings of skulls and gargoyles. An intimidating aura clung to every corner. But now, I am the ruler of this land. And as its king, I’ve made a decision: this castle needs a complete renovation.

I’ll change everything. This place will become a modern, comfortable, and livable home—even for humans.

Yosh! I’ll figure out the details later. For now, it’s time to embrace my new role.

General Azazil guided me to the throne room. There, I sat—for the very first time—on my own throne.

It still feels like a dream... I’m a king now.

The demon generals who had pledged their loyalty began introducing themselves one by one. Each of them possessed immense power, vast experience, and—surprisingly—unshakable loyalty to me.

After the introductions, I assigned everyone their duties:

Cleve became my secretary—quick-witted, sharp, and always a step ahead.

Azazil was, of course, appointed as my right hand. I trust him completely.

Gamon and Valac were assigned as spies, tasked with gathering intelligence and monitoring enemy movements.

Cain was entrusted with the kingdom’s internal security and military command.

Beatric would assist me in rebuilding and modernizing Valded.

My main mission is clear: to build a new Valded. A kingdom not just feared, but respected. Not just powerful, but civilized, prosperous, and thriving.

The next day, I stood in the central plaza. Before me stood the people of Valded—monsters, beastfolk, and races I had never seen before.

Goblins, orcs, succubi, ogres, lizardmen, vampires… Though their appearances were intimidating, their eyes held hope.

I introduced myself as Avrora, the new Demon King of Valded.

They cheered. Thunderous applause echoed throughout the city. They accepted me… warmly.

The day after that, I decided to explore the city firsthand, walking through the streets with Alice by my side.

Alice clung to me in fear, startled by the monsters around us. Her small arms wrapped tightly around mine.

I gently stroked her hair.

“Don’t worry, Alice-chan. Even if they look scary, they’re not bad people. They’re kind.”

Slowly, she relaxed.

As I observed the city, I noticed how disorganized it was. Houses built without any order. Narrow, winding streets. It was clear—this would be a massive undertaking.

I also noticed how the people lived. They survived by foraging in the forest—carnivores hunted, herbivores gathered fruits and vegetables. There was no agriculture. No livestock. No farming system.

That couldn’t continue.

They need to learn to grow their own food, to cultivate land and raise animals. I want them to thrive—not just survive off the wilderness.

“I will transform this kingdom into a strong, prosperous, and respected land. I’ll change how they think. How they live.”

> “You seem really fired up, Avrora,” Ai-chan suddenly chimed in.

I smiled. “Of course I am. I’ve been thinking a lot about this kingdom’s future.”

> “But Avrora… you must be careful. We've already tampered with the world system. I'm certain... the god of this world has noticed.”

I turned my head, a chill running down my spine.

“So… is he watching me right now?”

> “Most likely. Yes.”

Meanwhile, somewhere else...

In a mysterious chamber bathed in starlight, a young woman sat upon a throne. Her long, silvery hair shimmered like silk. Her eyes were sharp as they stared at the system interface floating before her.

She smirked.

“You truly are interesting, Avrora. After rebelling against the system I created… what will you do next?”

Her eyes gleamed with curiosity.

“I can’t wait to find out.”
