The Demon King's War Bell Tolls

The long-awaited day had finally arrived—the day war would erupt. Azazil had fulfilled his duty flawlessly, preparing the entire army for the coming clash.

That morning, I stood before my troops. The wind howled across the battlefield, carrying with it the scent of magic... and the blood yet to be spilled. My eyes swept over each soldier.

“I have only one command,” I declared. “Kill anyone who stands in our way. But... do not lay a hand on Alden, Zen, or Liza. They are my friends—and perhaps, still hold a place in my heart.”

A heavy silence fell before I stepped forward, my voice firm and thunderous.

“Listen well! This is our moment! It’s time we show the world our true power. Anyone who dares step foot into our kingdom… will be utterly destroyed!”

A battle cry erupted from the army.

“Hooooo!”
“Long live Avrora-sama!”
“Long live Avrora-sama!”

I raised my hand, unleashing an overwhelming wave of dark aura. The air froze. Silence fell instantly.

Rose stared at me, frozen in awe.

That aura… terrifying… Avrora-sama, you’re truly like a real demon, she thought.

Without delay, I ordered all commanders to lead their forces to their designated fronts.

“Hoooo!!!”

Weapons rose. War cries filled the air. And the army charged into battle.

---

On the eastern front, Cleve and Valac led the assault. They were immediately intercepted by Prince Brave and his troops.

Cleve glanced at Valac. “The red-haired one is my brother. I’ll handle him. You take care of the knights.”

Valac grinned. “Xixixi… with pleasure.”

He summoned his dragon and soared into the sky with sinister elegance.

“Swosh!”

The battle commenced. Cleve leapt in front of Brave.

“Long time no see, Nii-sama,” he said coldly.

Brave let out a harsh laugh. “How fortunate. I’ve been looking for you, Cleve. Today, I’ll kill you, traitor!”

He lunged forward with his greatsword. Cleve parried, leaped back, and unleashed a blast of fire magic.

“Bam!”

Brave blocked the fire with his sword and counterattacked. Cleve narrowly dodged as Brave’s sword cleaved the ground, splitting the earth.

“Tch… You’ve gotten fast, Cleve.”

Cleve smirked. “I’m not the same as before. This time… I’ll defeat you, Nii-sama.”

Brave narrowed his eyes. “Then I’ll get serious. Prepare to die!”

Their duel intensified. Brave's speed surged, cornering Cleve. Slash after slash landed on his body.

“Uaghhh!”

Cleve was knocked back, bloodied and battered. But slowly, his wounds began to heal. He stood, breathing hard, and laughed softly.

Brave’s eyes widened. “Regeneration...? How can you...?”

Cleve's gaze sharpened. “I’m no longer human. I am a Blood Servant Vampire. And I no longer care what I am. What matters now... is having the strength to always serve and stand by Avrora-sama.”

He raised his hand and tore open a dimensional rift. A sword emerged—its blade a swirl of red, black, and gold.

“The Darkbringer,” he whispered. “A gift from Avrora-sama. I’ll end you with this, Nii-sama.”

Brave readied his stance and charged. Cleve narrowed his eyes.

“Take this—Endless Slash Flow!”

His movements became blinding. Brave tried to block, but the pressure shattered his sword.

“Crack!”

“This... this can’t be!”

Cleve crossed both swords into an X.

“Die, Nii-sama!”

“Uaarghhh!”

Brave collapsed, fatally wounded. Cleve gave a cold, cruel smile.

---

Elsewhere, Prince Leon, Rose, and Beatric confronted the army led by Prince Chaiden and Prince Alden.

Alden froze when he saw Leon standing with the demons.

“Leon! Why are you with them? You were supposed to bring Avrora back!”

Leon leapt in front of him.

“You don’t understand. Avrora warned us—she doesn’t want to kill the three of you. But everyone else… she’ll show no mercy.”

Alden clenched his fists. “If she still considers us her friends, why won’t she just come home?”

Leon shook his head. “Because she was forced to leave! All of you let her be dragged away and sentenced to death. The demons… they gave her a place to live!”

Alden was struck silent. Leon continued.

“Monsters and demons have the right to live too, Alden. But humans… they only know how to conquer and destroy.”

Is that really true, Avrora…? Alden thought.

Suddenly, Chaiden barked, “What are you waiting for?! Kill him, Alden!”

Alden drew his sword. “Until I hear it from Avrora herself… I will not change my mind.”

Leon drew his greatsword. “Stubborn fool.”

Their blades clashed violently.

---

Rose turned to Beatric. “I’ll take on their leader. You handle the knights.”

“With pleasure,” Beatric said, removing her cloak.

Rose charged at Chaiden, then leapt back and summoned her guardian spirit.

“Come forth, Spirit Knight!”

A spectral armored figure with a scythe appeared behind her.

Chaiden recoiled. “What is that?! A spirit?! How can she summon something like that?!”

The Spirit Knight struck without hesitation.

---

Meanwhile, Azazil, Gamon, and Cain engaged Prince Grissham and his forces. Zen was among them.

Azazil spoke coldly, “By Avrora-sama’s order, do not harm the black-haired boy. Kill the rest.”

Gamon grinned. “I’ll have fun with him.”

Cain nodded. “I’ll take the knights.”

Azazil raised his hand and summoned dozens of magic circles in the sky.

“Now… perish.”

Grissham gasped. “Azazil?! Wasn’t he the former Demon King's general? How is he still alive?!”

Gamon dashed toward Zen. Grissham shouted, “Zen, watch out!”

Zen blocked the attack with his blade as black lightning exploded in the sky.

---

Back on the throne, I watched it all unfold through Ai-chan’s surveillance.

“They all seem to be enjoying themselves... I’m getting bored. Maybe it’s time I join in.”

I rose with a wicked grin.

“Time for the slaughter.”
