Three Days Before the War

Today, I was overseeing the construction of a railway that stretched across the rolling hills of Valdead. The workers—Monsters, Goblins, and Lizardmen—were working diligently under the sun. I smiled at their progress, until suddenly, Valac came rushing toward me, holding a scroll of reports in his hand.

“Lady Avrora! I just spotted a large movement from the Allied Kingdoms’ forces. They’ve begun to assemble. The exact timing of their attack is unclear, but we must prepare immediately!”

I looked at Valac, surprised. “So soon?”

Without wasting any time, I made my decision. “Then gather everyone. We’ll hold a war council now!”

“Yes, Lady Avrora!” Valac bowed and sprinted toward the main headquarters.

Not long after, I saw Gamon approaching from the west—with someone beside him.

Leon?

I froze when I saw my brother. The moment our eyes met, he ran forward and embraced me tightly.

“Avrora, I’ve missed you so much.”

“Umm… I missed you too, Onii-sama.”

He released the hug and looked at me with concern in his eyes.

“You’re alright, aren’t you?”

I smiled and held his hand. “I’m fine.”

“Thank goodness… I came with reinforcements to support you. The allied forces will launch their attack in three days.”

“Three days…” I repeated the words quietly.

A short while later, everyone had gathered in the strategy room. I stood before them and began.

“Valac and Prince Leon bring news that the enemy forces have started mobilizing. We have three days before the assault begins. Onii-sama, do you have any more intel?”

“They’re planning to encircle the Demon Kingdom from four directions,” Leon answered confidently.

“Azazil,” I called. “What’s the current strength of our forces?”

Azazil stood and calmly replied, “Eighty thousand Goblins, sixty thousand Orcs, thirty thousand Ogres, forty thousand Lizardmen, and twenty Demon Knights and Vampire Knights each.”

“Onii-sama, how many troops did you bring?”

“Forty thousand elite soldiers, thirty thousand regulars, twenty thousand archers, twenty thousand mages, five elite casters, and one Magus.”

“That brings our total to around 345,000.” I nodded. “Listen carefully. Azazil, Gamon, and Cain—you’ll take 115,000 troops and secure the western front. Cleve and Valac, you handle the east. Beatric, Rose, and Leon—you three protect the north. The rest…”

I smiled coldly. “Leave the south to me. I’ll face them alone.”

Rose looked uneasy. “Why won’t you take any troops with you? Please, let me accompany you, Lady Avrora!”

My eyes glowed red as I stared at her. “Do you doubt my power, Rose?”

She immediately bowed her head, trembling. “N-no… I understand, Lady Avrora.”

I knew she was just worried. But if I didn’t act firmly, she would keep insisting.

Suddenly, Ai-chan’s voice echoed in my mind. “You’re planning something, aren’t you, Avrora?”

“Yes, Ai-chan. If I kill 100,000 people… can I evolve to the final stage?”

“Of course! It’s written in your status too, isn’t it? So you’re planning to evolve during the war?”

“I can’t waste this opportunity. In three days, I’ll wipe them out and reach my final evolution!”

“Hehehe… Sounds exciting. Let’s destroy them together!”

I turned to Azazil. “Prepare all our forces. I’ll leave the rest to you.”

“Understood, Lady Avrora,” Azazil replied resolutely.

“Gamon, Valac—continue monitoring the enemy’s movements.”

“Yes, Lady Avrora.”

After the meeting, I walked around the kingdom with Leon. I told him about the Valdead Kingdom, the city’s development, and the peaceful lives of the Monsters.

Leon looked astonished. “So they live like this… I was wrong about them all along.”

I also showed him the railway under construction. Leon looked amazed.

“Kreta? What’s that?”

I chuckled and explained it to him. He listened intently, his eyes sparkling like a child’s.

Just then, Cleve approached.

“Master, may I speak with you privately?”

I nodded. “Alright, let’s go to my chamber.”

Before leaving, I turned to Leon. “Onii-sama, I’ll be back soon, okay?”

He nodded, but his gaze lingered on Cleve. “Why is he… so different now?” he wondered silently.

Cleve used to be arrogant and resentful toward Avrora. But now? He submitted to her.

When we arrived at my chamber, I sat down and asked, “What is it, Cleve?”

“Forgive me, Master. I have a request. I want power… to defeat my brother. He’ll surely come for me during the war. Please… make me a Vampire like you.”

I fell silent. “Are you serious?”

“I’m very serious!”

I thought hard, then called Ai-chan.

“Ai-chan, how do I turn a human into a Vampire?”

“Make him your blood servant. Drink his blood while giving him your magic energy, then let him drink your blood. After that, your souls will be bound forever.”

I looked at Cleve. “Then… you must swear loyalty to me.”

Cleve immediately knelt. “I swear, Master. I will be loyal to you forever!”

Blushing slightly, I said, “Show me your neck. I’m going to bite you now.”

Cleve blushed but obeyed.

I bit into him. His blood was sweet. Afterward, I wiped my mouth and asked, “How do you feel?”

“I feel stronger, Master!”

“Now it’s your turn. Drink my blood.”

I brushed my hair aside, revealing my neck.

Cleve hesitated. “M-Master, this is…”

“Hurry up, this is embarrassing!” I snapped.

Blushing furiously, Cleve bit me. When he finished, we both sat in silence, our faces flushed.

“Thank you, Master! I’ll risk my life for you!”

“Good. As a Vampire, I also grant you a weapon. Come forth, The Darkbringer!”

I opened a dimensional portal and pulled out a sword glowing with red and yellow dark energy. I handed it to him.

“Now you can summon The Darkbringer. You also gain two new skills: Dual Sword and Infinity Sword.”

Cleve grinned. “I won’t let you down, Master!”

I smiled back. “Get ready. In three days, we’ll show the world who we really are.”
