A Troublesome Father, A Confusing Brother

After meeting with the Queen, I returned to the Kingdom of Valded with Viad.

As soon as we arrived, Viad looked absolutely delighted. His eyes lit up with joy, and his voice was as cheerful as a child who had just found a new toy.

"My daughter, you’re incredible! Who would’ve thought you'd become the ruler of Valded? Hahaha… So, can I live here with you?" he asked, grinning.

I sighed. “Do whatever you want. I’m not going to stop you.”

Without warning, Viad lifted me up into the air like I was some little girl.

“Hahaha! My sweet daughter! We’ll live together now!”

“Put me down, you idiot!” I shouted, kicking him hard in the stomach.

“ITAAaaaAA!!” he howled in pain.

When we entered the castle, the atmosphere instantly turned stiff. Everyone stared at us—well, more precisely, at Viad.

Calmly, I stepped forward to introduce the man beside me.

“Everyone, let me introduce this man. His name is Viad. He’s… my biological father. From now on, he’ll be staying here with us.”

There was a scraping sound. Leon stood up, stunned.

“Avrora… what do you mean by that?” he asked seriously.

Bart also stood up and interrupted.

“She’s right. Avrora, please explain this.”

I gave a nervous smile, trying to hold back the awkwardness rising in my chest.

“Ahaha… ahaha… I’ll explain later, okay? Let’s talk inside where it’s more private…”

“Eh? Why not now?” Viad said loudly. “Let me explain it for you!”

Thud!

I smacked him hard in the stomach.

“UAKKK!”

“Why are you so rough, Princess~? I just got here and you're already beating me up…” he whined.

Without speaking, I used telepathy to scold him.

『You idiot! Don’t you feel any shame?! If they find out I’m the child of an affair, it’ll be humiliating!』

Viad froze, then gave me an awkward smile.

“Ahaha… I see…”

Stupid old man. Always making things worse.

Not long after, we all gathered in my private chamber—Leon, Bart, Mother Livy, and of course, Viad.

I told them everything from the beginning. The truth about who I really was… and who Viad truly is.

No wonder they looked shocked. Leon’s face turned pale.

“So Mother had an affair?! I… I can’t believe this, Avrora!”

Viad, on the other hand, laughed shamelessly.

“Haha, so she’s also King Aldric’s daughter, huh? Makes sense…”

BAM!

Leon stood up in rage.

“Shut up! You seduced my mother, you bastard!”

“Cih. Who do you think you’re yelling at?” Viad retorted.

“Enough!!” I yelled, my voice echoing across the room.

Everyone fell silent.

“Onii-sama, what’s done is done. He’s my father. Please accept that… and keep this a secret from King Aldric.”

Leon turned away, grinding his teeth.

“Tch.”

He stormed out of the room.

“Onii-sama!” I called, chasing after him—but Father Bart stopped me.

“Let him go, Avrora. He’s angry right now. Talking won’t help.”

“…Alright, Father.”

Bart looked at me, then turned toward Viad.

“I never would’ve guessed… that you’re her real father.”

Viad blinked in confusion, then asked, “Wait… why did you call him Father?”

So I told him. Everything. How Bart raised me as his daughter when I had no one else.

Viad’s expression darkened. Then, he walked up and hugged me tightly.

“I’m sorry, my daughter. When you were in danger, I wasn’t there for you…”

I pushed him away, glaring.

“And whose fault was that?! Instead of hiding the truth about me being your child, you announced that the Queen would give birth to a half-vampire! That’s why I was thrown away! You idiot!”

“I was jealous… and emotional. I made a mistake…”

I punched him hard in the head.

SMACK!

“ITAAaaAA!!”

A little while later, I went to Leon’s room and knocked gently before entering.

“Onii-sama… are you mad at me?”

“…No,” he replied flatly, without even looking at me.

Liar. He was obviously mad. I could feel it from the air.

I approached him quietly… and blew softly into his ear.

“Fuuu~”

Leon flinched.

“Avrora?! What are you doing?!”

“You’re being distant again. I don’t like it…”

Suddenly, Leon grabbed my wrist and pulled me onto the bed.

Thud!

“Huh?!”

Before I could react, he was already on top of me, holding both my hands down.

“You have to take responsibility, Avrora.”

“W-Wait… Onii-sama, what are you doing?!”

He gently cupped my cheek and touched my ear.

“Avrora… I don’t care if you’re my little sister. I… I love you.”

He leaned closer, his lips just inches from mine—

BANG!

The door burst open.

“Ehh?!”

Viad stood in the doorway, his expression a mixture of horror and fury.

“Hey, you idiot! What do you think you’re doing to my daughter?!”

THUD!

Viad kicked Leon hard, sending him flying off the bed.

“Gaaah!”

Leon sprang back up and shouted, and the two of them began fighting like children over a toy.

I could only let out a long, deep sigh.

“This… is going to be a pain.”
