From the Thunder Dragon to the Wrath of the Demon King

The wind on the battlefield swirled violently. The ground cracked beneath Lazarus’s feet as his dark aura exploded outward, like a black storm ready to swallow all life around him.

“Fuh… finally done playing around?” Leon muttered, twirling his sword.

Lazarus’s eyes narrowed, a vicious grin spreading across his lips. “You forced my hand.”

His body vanished from sight—and before Leon could react, a crushing blow slammed into his cheek.

Bash!
“Ugh—!” Leon was flung backward, skidding across the ground as a cloud of dust erupted.

But he rose slowly, casually wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. His gaze was sharp, but a faint smirk lingered.
“Tch… what kind of speed is that?”

Lazarus raised an eyebrow. The fresh wound Leon had just received was already gone, as if it had never been there.
“Regeneration that fast… annoying.”

“That’s what happens when you’ve got noble vampire blood,” Leon replied, swinging his greatsword onto his shoulder.

Lazarus’s feet pressed into the dirt—then swosh!—he disappeared again. His strikes came from every direction, flashes of steel glittering amid the dust.

Leon dodged as best he could, but one slash grazed his shoulder, forcing him back. He planted his feet, lifting his sword just in time to block the next strike.

Sparks scattered in all directions as their blades clashed.

In the midst of the ringing steel, Lazarus grinned. “Your time’s up!”

But Leon answered in a low, steady tone. “Not yet.”

He raised his voice.
“Thundering Dragon!”

The sky darkened instantly. Thick clouds swirled into a vortex, and from within descended a blazing golden thunder dragon.

Lazarus’s eyes widened. “What—”

Zudooooon!!
The dragon’s lightning crashed into his body. Leon leapt back, letting the storm of electricity engulf his foe.

Smoke blanketed the battlefield. From within it, Lazarus emerged—armor cracked, electricity crawling across his body. His breath was ragged, but his eyes still burned with fury.

“You… damn monster!” he spat.

Leon didn’t wait. He lifted one finger, pointing straight at Lazarus’s chest. Lightning condensed into a silver-blue beam.
“Die.”

Byuunn!
The blast pierced through Lazarus’s chest, striking his heart.

“Ughhh—!” Blood sprayed from his mouth. “I… impossible…”

His body collapsed, dust rising once more.

Leon exhaled. You may have been blessed with the power of the gods, Lazarus… but I carry twenty percent divine blood.

In the distance, the enemy forces froze for a few seconds—then panic erupted. They began to retreat, but Rose and the demon troops quickly cut off their escape.

Meanwhile, I was walking down the dark corridors of the castle, tracking the source of a powerful dark energy.

It was getting stronger.

When I finally reached the central chamber, a black, shimmering magical barrier stood before me.
“Hmph… is that all?”
