Unexpected Alliance
The Eastern Demon King, Chimeries, had finally arrived at the gates of the Valded Kingdom. His arrival was immediately intercepted by two of the kingdom’s top guards—Valac and Gamon.
“Halt! Who goes there?!” Gamon shouted, drawing his weapon.
Chimeries and his entourage stopped in their tracks. Calmly, he stepped forward and introduced himself.
“I am Chimeries, the Demon King of the East. I’ve come to request an audience with Demon King Avrora.”
Instantly, tension rose between Valac and Gamon, their guards up.
“What business do you have with Lady Avrora? Are you here to challenge her?” Gamon growled with suspicion.
But then, one of Chimeries' subordinates stepped forward—a demon with a relaxed yet sharp gaze. His name was Zimon.
“Allow me to explain, Lord Chimeries,” he said, turning to Gamon with a sly grin. “Yo, it’s been a while, Gamon-san!”
Gamon narrowed his eyes, trying to recall the familiar voice.
“You… Zimon? Is that really you?”
Zimon gave a wide smile. “So you do remember. It’s been a long time, old friend.”
“Hmph. You vanish for years without a word, and now you're serving the Eastern Demon King? What’s your reason for coming here?”
Zimon’s tone turned serious.
“Our kingdom was attacked by the Eastern Empire. They wield weapons we've never seen before—deadly ones. We need help.”
Gamon fell silent for a moment, considering.
“So that’s it… Lady Avrora mentioned something about mysterious weapons from the Eastern Empire in yesterday’s meeting.”
With a firm nod, he said, “Very well. I’ll take you to her.”

Inside my chamber, I—Avrora—was enjoying a moment of peace when a knock came at the door. It was Gamon.
“Forgive the interruption, Lady Avrora. The Eastern Demon King, Chimeries, is here. He wishes to speak with you.”
“Chimeries?” I muttered. “What could he want with me?”
I rose from my seat and gave a faint smile.
“Very well. I’ll meet him.”
I made my way to the throne room, where Chimeries and his followers were already waiting. Our eyes met, and for a brief moment, surprise flickered across his face—he hadn’t expected me to look more like a young girl than the fearsome Demon King he’d heard of.
“I am Chimeries, Demon King of the East. These are my subordinates. We’ve come… to request your aid,” he said, bowing respectfully.
I nodded. “Tell me. What happened—and what do you need from me?”
Chimeries laid it all out—the brutal invasion by the Eastern Empire, the unknown weapons, the enslavement of his people.
My eyes widened. “I had a feeling... They’re trying to start a war.”
Chimeries met my gaze, his voice sincere.
“Avrora, please. Save my people. The ones left behind... they’ll be slaughtered.”
I stood. “Very well. I’ll help. Let’s make a plan.”
