Legend's P.O.V

I couldn't believe River. Why the hell was he acting like this towards Cassidy? I honestly felt like punching the shit out of him but I didn't because my parents were there. Instead of retaliating I tapped Cassidy on her shoulder and signaled for her to follow me. I stood up and walked to the door that lead to our backyard. I opened it and heard Cassidy gasp.

"What?" I asked as I looked at her trying to figure out what was wrong.

"This is your backyard!!!??????!!!!" She yelled truly mesmerized.

"Oh, yea." I said with a smile.

I looked around and a thought hit me. I'd never even noticed just how amazing my backyard was. It was about an acre large (not including the woods surrounding it). As soon as you walk out the doors the pool is right there on the porch and has steps leading down to the ground. There's a small passage way that leads to my mom's garden and right behind her garden are the woods. (Picture at the top)

We entered my mom's garden and was about to keep walking until Cassidy stopped in her tracks.

"Wait- we're not going in the woods are we?" She asked with a nervous look on her face.

"Relax, I just wanna show you something." I smiled reassuringly and grabbed her hand. As we made our way deeper into the woods her grip on my hand tightened. I knew she was afraid.

"How do you know your way around here?" She asked as her eyes wandered to look at every single spot we passed.

"When we were younger my mom would come to her garden everyday at dawn and while she was gardening River and I would always sneak off to explore the woods." I explained.

"Wow, did you two ever get lost?" She asked. I noticed that she wasn't freaking out as much anymore.

"Nope. Well, yes. I mean- okay let me explain. River first went into the woods when he was 6, which was before I was born, and he got lost. My dad had to go look for him and didn't find him until after midnight. After that, River still continued to go into the woods but he never got lost again. One day when I was about 5 and River was 12 we were helping my mom in her garden when I saw River sneaking off to the woods so I followed him. He didn't know I was following him until about 15 minutes later when he stopped at a tree. He was mad at first but eventually got over it. In fact that was when he started letting me go with him in the woods. We did it for 4 years until he had to leave for college. After he left I started wandering through them on my own. I was use to the woods though. I remember when River would come to visit I'd always ask him to take me back to the woods and show me parts of it that he hadn't before but he never did. Point is, River explored these woods for 10 years, he spent 6 of them exploring alone yet he only got lost once. I'd never gotten lost because I ventured through them with River for years before I went on my own."

"Whoa. You two are major daredevils aren't you?" Cassidy chuckled. "So what are you gonna show me?"

"Well, when I first went with River to explore when I we started working on something. Something that took us a year to finish." I stated.

"And what was it?"

"You'll see. We're almost there." I took off running, still holding on to her hand, and we ran for about 5 minutes before we reached our destination.

"We're here." I said. "This is the tree River stopped at when he first saw me following him."

At the top of the tree was a tree house my brother and I built.

"No way. Did you two really build this on your own!?" Cassidy asked.

"Would you believe me if I said yes?"
