Cassidy's P.O V.
We flew out to Colorado the very next morning.
River and I didnt sleep at all.
I stayed up all night crying into his arms.
I just couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that this was happening.
I told Max and Jordan to come with us.
I broke the news to Jordan but I didnt have the heart to tell Max so I asked him to do it.
He was taking it as hard as I was.
This was just so unreal.
We arrived at my parents' house around noon. There were cars parked along the sidewalk, some of which were familiar and others not so much. We walked inside and the atmosphere was so sad.
There were at least 30 people inside yet hardly any noise.
As soon as we stepped in all eyes turned to us.
My dad stood up as soon as he saw me.
When I looked at him I felt like crying all over again.
He walked up to me and pulled me into a tight hug.
Max's mom ran up to him and did the same.
"This isn't real." I whispered to my dad. "There's no way he's gone."
"I wanna believe that too." He replied as I felt him hug me tighter.
"I know this is hard for you." I heard Max's mom say to him. "Dont be afraid to cry. Its okay to cry." She assured him.
Max hadn't cried at all. He hadn't even said a word to anyone since Jordan told him the news last night.
"Where's mom and Danny?" I asked.
"In the back talking to Jasmine and Kenzie."
I'd completely forgotten about Xander's fiancé. I knew this was hitting her extremely hard.
Riley's friends Erica and Charlie then came up to me and hugged me.
Both of their faces were puffy from crying. They'd been bestfriends with Riley since kindergarten so they were fairly close to me and Xander as well.
"How are you two holding up?" I asked.
"We were just talking crap to eachother yesterday." Charlie stated. "He was more of a big brother to me than my own brother ever was."
"This sucks." Erica added. "So much."
"It does." I said. "Where's Riley?"
"In his room. He hasn't come out all day. Wont even talk to us. He said he'll only talk to you and River." Erica replied.
