Max's P.O.V.

No no no no no no no no fuck fuck fuck FUCK.

This was not happening.

"Max...." Said Xander.

"I- I- I dont-"

I couldn't even get the words out.
Elliott was staring in disbelief.

None of us knew how to react.

"Why's everyone looking at me like I've done something?" River asked.

No one said anything.

Suddenly the door opened and in walked Legend and Ryan.

"We should probably get going. Pretty sure I saw Mark heading across the courtyard."

"Holy shit Legend, you've grown up. How's it been little bro?"

Legend raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"What?" Asked Legend.

"I haven't seen you since you left for France. Its been years!"

River stood up and walked over to hug Legend.

Legend was utterly lost.

"Dude... I just saw you like 4 hours ago."

"Why is everyone acting so weird?!" River exclaimed.

Xander grabbed my arm and pulled me out of Mark's office.

He then stared at me- waiting for me to give him answers.

But I shrugged my shoulders. I didn't know what was wrong with River.

"When he passed out did he hit his head on the ground?" He asked me.

"No he was already on the ground."

But then I thought for a second... And I knew what happened.

"River has a brain injury from back when he was younger." I began. "And I'm pretty sure Mark gave him head trauma from punching the daylights of him before you guys got here. I guess when River passed out, the effects started to hit."

"I need to call my dad." Said Xander as he pulled his phone out.

I tried to quickly grab it away from him but he yanked it back.

"Dude you can't!" I stated. "We don't need more people coming here! Its already bad enough that some of us are stuck here."

"My dad's a neurosurgeon. His job literally focuses around brains! He'll know what to do!"

"We can't risk it Alexander."

"We don't have a choice."

"Yes we do. If you call Andrew he's gonna come up here. You're just putting his life in danger."

"Fine then." Xander replied as he threw his hands in the air in defeat. "River's already lost his fucking memory. The longer we wait the closer his memory loss is gonna get to becoming permanent."

"That's still better than risking another life."

"I guess you're right. Have fun telling River that his wife and daughter died 6 years ago. "

I didn't think about that.

This was now terrifying.

After Arabella's and Bethany's death, River completely lost his way.

He went on a downhill spiral.

Was it gonna happen again?

I couldn't risk it.
