Legend's P.O.V.
We sat at a table basically devouring our Chik-Fil-A.
None of us had eaten since the day before.
"You okay East?" Jordan asked after noticing that he wasnt eating.
He nodded his head yes but continued to stare down at the table.
"She's fine. The babies are fine. They're alive." Sonny reassured him.
"I know but... they almost weren't." Riley stated.
"Yes but almost doesn't count. The end result is always the most important. And everyone's okay. Don't worry."
"What if those guys come back?"
"They're not going to." Said a voice from behind us. It was Tommy.
He sat in the empty chair next to me and focused his attention on Riley.
"How can you be so sure?" Riley asked. "They're not dead. They could always come back."
"Your sister will be fine. No one's gonna hurt her."
"You dont know that."
"But I do."
"How?!" Riley lost his temper as he finally looked up from the table.
"Because she has River. He's not gonna let anyone hurt her."
"He doesn't even remember her."
"He will eventually. And even if he doesn't, Mathias and the rest of us, Caesar, Blue, Stone and myself, will look after her. River would put his life on the line for your sister. And we'd put our lives on the line for River. We've got her. You have my word."
I held out my pinky.
He hesitated but laughed and wrapped his pinky around mine.
"You know, you remind me of myself. When I was your age, I couldn't stand my sister but we were extremely close and I always looked after her even though she was my older sister. I lost count of the number of times I fought her ex boyfriends. I didn't care how old they were or who they were, when it came to my sister I was willing to fight the devil himself if I had to. Now that we're older, I still can't stand her but we're just as close as we were when we were kids. And I still worry about her and make sure that no one's mistreating her. Because as brothers, that's what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to look after our sisters whether they're older or younger. We've gotta protect them from this cruel world. And that's exactly what you're doing. Dont ever stop. You're a strong kid and I can already tell 10 years from now you're gonna be a lot like how I am now."
"Ew another Tommy? No thank you." River said as he sat in the remaining empty seat.
"River, how you feeling buddy?"
"Weird..." He replied.
"Good weird or bad weird?" I asked.
He looked at me in annoyance.
"Legend... Shut up."
"Nice to see you're still the same old River." I mumbled.
"You look terrible." Said AJ.
"You look like you got beat with a shitload of dildos by a group of angry gay guys." Ryan added.
River laughed. "You guys are you're gonna have to reintroduce yourselves until my memory resolves itself. Tommy and Legend are pretty much the only people I know at this table."
