Never Again: Chapter 4
Rose's POV:
The bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Niall and I said goodbye, we agreed that he would meet me at my house at around 8 so we could set up for the party which started at 9.
Then I spotted the girl, Iris, from yesterday. Another pang of guilt waved over me as I caught up to her. I knew she look familiar.
"Hey Iris," I smiled and she looked at me funny.
"Hey Rose," she said awkwardly, yep she was a lot like me.
"So do you need a ride or anything," I asked, I still want to make it up to her.
"Er no my friend Liam takes me home," she smiled shy and looked at the ground, clutching her books tighter to her chest.
"No I insist, we can hang out before the party tonight, you're coming right?"
"Yeah I was going to go," Iris looked at me again, and opened her mouth. She closed it just as fast as she opened it, I wonder what she was going to stay.
"Well, we can have like girl time before the party." I said. And to be honest, I need to talk to a girl. Hanging out with Niall is fun and all but I need to have at least one girl friend. And that girl so happened I be Iris.
"Uh I'm not sure," She looked nervous an shaky, she was so shy. I really just want to be her friend.
"Iris is that you," immediately her features soften as a tall clean cut boy walked up next her, wrapping her in his arms. "Hi I'm Liam, you're Rose right?" He introduce himself. He seemed very nice.
"Yeah I am. Hello, it's nice to meet you,"
"You too, you aren't gonna run me over with anything are you?" Liam asked and I couldn't help but laugh at his charm. Iris on the other hand looked like she was about to throw up.
"No I won't be doing that,"
"Ok, that's good. So I hear you're having a party later?" Liam asked again, he still had his arm around Iris's shoulder which made me question if they were a couple or not.
"Uh yeah. I am. I was just asking Iris if she wanted to hang out with me before, it would be nice to have a girl to talk to. And Iris seems nice." Liam looked completely thrilled at what I just said. He looked down at Iris, giving her a look.
"I think Iris would love that," Liam spoke, his lips curving into a smile.
"I guess I would," Iris spoke sarcastically.
"Great c'mon! Bye Liam, I hope to see you at the party tonight!" I smiled at Liam and grabbed Iris's hand, catching her off guard and causing her to stumble. Liam laughed from behind us and I giggled.
Once we got to the car, Iris was still being quiet.
"It so cold," I shuddered and rubbed my arms as I put the key into ignition, and cranking the heat up.
"Tell me about it," I smiled at Iris's remark and we made small talk on the way to my house.
"So this is it," I smiled again, and grabbed my bag from the trunk, and handed Iris hers as well. "Welcome to casa de whatever. I'm not good at Spanish." I smiled and she laughed again.
"So why do you want to hang out with me so much." She asked suddenly, we walked into my kitchen before I answered. I don't know if I want to answer truthfully or not, but I guess I might as well if I'm going to be starting a new friendship.
"Well you remind me a lot of myself," I said softly as I began to set out two cups for the both of us.
"What?! We're nothing alike," she scoffed, and took the drink I offered to her, sipping it lightly until I continued.
