Never Again: Chapter 28

Rose's POV

I laid against the big bed, trying to sleep. But I couldn't. I replayed Iris's and I's fight in my head, why was she so full of hatred? Yes, she is a werewolf. But she could have potential, she could do great things with the strength she has. Yet she uses her anger to fuel her fire and that's going to end up hurting us all, she's already hurt Zayn and I.

I winced as I remembered her venom coursing through my veins. It was intense, it made me hate her. Yet those feelings left once I extracted it.

I couldn't just rest with everything going on in my head. So I sat up, and left the room. I carefully stepped down the steps, I was afraid of losing my balance. I was still woozy from Iris' venomous bite.

Iris must've gotten out, the cellar door was open, and there was a huge dent in the metal, as well as a lot of scratches. I sighed and went into the living room.

"She got out, but she's just sleeping outside. I'm surprised you didn't hear it all," Louis informed me as I sat on Niall's lap.

"How's your arm and hand," Niall asked quietly, the boys all waiting for me to respond.

"It's sore, but I'll be fine." I glanced at my bandaged hand and back at the boys. "My stomach hurts from her claws though." I mumbled and sat uncomfortably in pain.

"I'm sorry babe," Niall rested his head against my shoulder, I leaned into his warm body more. He was so comfortable and safe. Despite his tattoos or piercings, he was truly a sweet guy.

"Ew get a room," Louis mumbled as Niall kissed my neck softly. "You've got a dirty mind Niall, shame on you," small snickers escaped from the boys as Niall blushed. I on the other hand wasn't in the mood to listen to them joke about this.

"Lou I would like you to focus on more important things, like the pack of werewolves trying to murder us, or the demon wolf that's already attacked Zayn and I," I snapped at Louis who sat further away from, I stared at him as he cowered under my gaze.

"Quit it with your eyes," Harry mumbled. He moved further from me as well.

"What's wrong with my eyes?" I asked and looked at Niall, who was staring the boys down.

"They're vibrant red, not like blood. But more like a sort of red flower. They glow, it's creepy to say the least," Liam said, who had been quiet and in his own world spoke.

"Maybe if you guys didn't piss me off, I wouldn't have glowing red eyes," I snapped and their faces showed fear, or maybe it was disappointment. "I'm sorry for barking at you guys like this, but we seriously have more important things to worry about." I said and laid against Niall's chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist and minded my cut stomach.

"I love you," Niall mumbled against my shoulder and kissed it.

"I love you too," I said and focused on the rest of the boys who were all talking about some game they could all play. "No games. We are planing out an attack, something to show that pack we aren't weak and that we can handle ourselves," I said and sat up. Niall whimpered from the loss of touch but I squeezed his hand in mine to show him it was ok.

"That pack has a name. They're called the Daemons. Which in Latin means demons," Harry informed me.

"Alright. So we need to plan something against the Daemons," I said with authority that even surprised me.

"I think Iris should help us, she might have a good ideas," Zayn said from his seat. I nodded and left the living room. I ran up stairs and grabbed her sweats and a t shirt and went back down stairs.

As I stepped outside I scanned the area for her. Then I spotted her under a tree, she was sleeping. Poor thing, she has to be exhausted. I walked over to her and stepped on a twig, it broke under my weight and her ears shot up, along with her head.

She bared her teeth, I wasn't afraid of her. It's quiet comical how she was reacting really.

"Please Iris, enough with the theatrics. I brought you some clothes. Now we really need some help. The Daemons are prolly plotting their attack right now. And all you're doing is being stubborn, wallowing in self hate," I put my hand on my hip and waited for her to shift. Or some kind of response. But she sat there underneath the tree.

She cocked her head to the side and whined. I closed my eyes as I head her bones break back in place, then I felt her take the cloths from me. I gave her privacy and kept my eyes shut. I opened when she huffed her breath signaling she was done. She was exhausted, her eyes said so.

"I've missed you," I said and pulled her into a hugged. She was surprised but hugged me back.

"You don't hate me?" She asked and I shook my head no. "But I hurt you, and I almost hurt that little boy, and I hurt Zayn," her voice trailed off as I hugged her tighter.

"Just, try and control her," she only nodded.

"Are the Daemons the pack who attacked us?" Her voice croaked and I nodded yes. "Well I have a few choice words for them," she mumbled and I laughed.

"Come on. And please for my sanity and everyone's safety, try and be nice," I begged her, she rolled her eyes. I sighed and we walked inside.

"Welcome back Iris," Harry said politely, Iris ignored his comment and say next to Liam on the floor.

The tension in the room grew as Zayn let a low growl escape his lips. "Nope not happening, Zayn follow me now," I demanded and he followed me out of the door without protest. I walked and walked until we were out of hearing rage, even for werewolves.

"What?" He snapped and I rolled my eyes at his arrogance.

"I'll tell you this one time, and one time only. Growling at Iris is a bad idea. You love her right?" Zayn nodded his head in agreement and I went on. "She's mad, and angry, and upset. You fuel her anger, and make her mad. She needs love, comfortable sweet love. Not this cruel relationship you have going on,"

"But she hates me," Zayn said sadly, his eyes glowing blue.

"No, she doesn't hate you. She hates what you did. You need to make her believe that you're sorry, and that you'll take care of her. Do not try and control her and attack people who give her attention. Show her love and respect,"

"She doesn't want to forgive me," he snapped and I groaned in frustration.

"Yes! Iris, I know, has love in her. She's not all hate,"

"How would you know?" He snapped.

"If you don't want to listen to me, and let Iris slip away into darkness then don't expect me to help! I'm going to be kind and understanding! You should too, show her the love she deserves not this hate!" I shook his shoulders but he shrugged off my hands.

"Ok, I'll try," he huffed and I smiled. "Rose, thank you for saving me," he smiled and I hugged him tightly.

"I'll save you as long as you save Iris from herself,"

We walked along the path we took in quiet. But it wasn't awkward or long. It was peaceful. As long as I knew Zayn would try, that's all I could hope for. We neared the house and shouting could be heard. Then a scream, an inhuman scream. Zayn began to run, and I did too.

What could it possibly now? We hadn't been gone for 20 minutes how could something happen in 20 minutes. My hands were shaking as I opened the door. I gasped.

Niall was laying on the floor, he looked almost lifeless. He was drenched in his own blood, a bite mark was just below his heart. No no no.

"I didn't mean to," Iris was stammering in the corner of the room she was clutching her naked body. She had bloody hands, i knew she was the one who hurt Niall. Zayn rushed to her side and wrapped his arms around her. She didn't protest, she just sobbed into his shoulder.

Louis and Harry stood above Niall's body and I could tell it was bad. I rushed over to them and they kept telling me to save him. I told them to me some water. Niall's eyes slid back into the back of his head. Please don't, this can't be happening.

"I can't be too late," I whimpered.
