Never Again: Chapter 32
Rose's POV
I was scurrying around the bloody mess trying my best to heal everyone. Extracting the venom was a lot of work, and it hurt my head to have to focus so long. Plus the burning of Iris' venom was in my veins as well. A tall man began to help as well, but he seemed so strange and mysterious. I didn't protest as he tended to some of the wounds on Harry and Louis. I knew Niall got the worst beating so I focus on him as he laid barely breathing in the grass. I whispered things to calm his nerves. And once I was done tending to him I left, placing a kiss gently on his lips, promising I would come back.
Zayn was next, lying face down in the grass underneath a tree. I hurried to him and began to work the healing powers I was gifted with. A small sigh came from him as I extracted the last of the venom in his system. I whispered for him not to move much an let the wound rest.
"Rose, Liam," Harry's voice croaked as he pointed to Liam's limp body on the grass. I hurried to him, I didn't think his wounds were that bad. Boy was I wrong.
"Liam," I whispered and there wasn't a response. "Liam!" I shouted but still he laid lifeless in the grass as the birds chirped around us, like a normal day. "Liam wake up," I screamed and shook his body. I began to extract the venom, but not all of it would come out because it was too far into his body. I laid my head against his chest to hear his warm heart beat, nothing. "This can't be fucking happening!" I screamed and pulled the grass from the ground and pulled at my hair.
"Rose, he's not dead, is he?" Niall croaked, he was propped up on one of his elbows. He was naked, but so was I and I couldn't give a shit.
My voice was stuck in my throat as I nodded yes. He was dead. Smiling Liam, always full I life, was dead. I laid my fingers against his cheek, he was still warm. I began to cry, feeling like I lost a little brother. Liam was so innocent, he was fragile. He didn't look like it, by he was. And now he's dead.
There was an eery silence that fell over the area. Even the birds that were chirping paid there respects and kept quiet. I sobbed loudly, creating a ripple effect. All of the boys had tears in there eyes when I looked back at them. I wiped my bloody, dirty hand under my eyes and wiped away a trail of never ending tears.
A hand placed itself on my bare back as I let out a series of sobs. I turned to face him, his scent unfamiliar. He was the man who was healing my pack.
"You need to be healed," he whispered and I nodded. I sat quietly and cried into my hands. "She got you good. But since you're like her you can withstand it better," he said in his gruff voice. I only nodded again and watched his hands as they moved like a waves over my wounds. He extracted a lot of venom, and I felt woozy when he was done.
He left after he was done without saying a word. I sat next to Liam's dead body. I laid my head on his chest, it was morbid laying against a dead body, but I wanted Liam back. I wanted the smiling little puppy like boy back. I wanted to see his warm brown eyes crinkle as he smiled. Or his loud laugh. But I can't. I pressed my hand against one of his cheeks, he was beginning to become cold. I let out more sobs as I told the boys to leave and that I wanted to be alone. They all didn't listened and sat in their own grief.
Niall finally joined me, laying his hands on mine and I sobbed continually. How could I cry for so long? It felt like I had been crying for hours, and hours. My eyes felt like they were dried up, but I continued to sob.
"Rose," Niall asked and I shook my head to tell him to stop talking. We sat in silence as my tears stopped as I just whimpered. "Come here," he demanded and I obliged and climbed into his arms. I say uncomfortably naked against him.
"I want to go home," I whimpered and he nodded, kissing my forehead. I wasn't calm. I was so afraid, this was my fault. All my fault. I wanted to come find Iris, and now Liam's dead. I should've just listened to Niall. He knew what was best for our pack, and I just got one of us killed. "I'm so sorry," I whispered into his bare chest.
"This isn't your fault so don't say it is," he said sternly and I shook my head, disagreeing with him. "It's Iris' fault dammit,"
"But if it wasn't for me, she wouldn't be like that,"
"Don't say that," he whispered pulling my tighter to his naked body. I was calmly comforted by his warmth, he felt nice.
I glanced over to Liam once more. I screamed pushing Niall from his so I could see if I was going crazy. But I wasn't, Liam was turning a deep black and purple. His lips were completely black, he looked like a monster. The tips of any part of his body was black, and then turned purple as it went towards his inner body. The veins in his arms an neck bulging out black and dis colored. I ripped open his shirt so I could see if what I expected was there I couldn't hide my gasp and choked on my sobs.
His chest was a deep black. Darkest where his heart should be. I thought I extracted it but I was wrong, it multiplied in his blood stream.
"Rose you don't need to see this," I hadn't realized that all the boys stood above me, still ready eyes. Louis wiped his eyes and I knew he would miss Liam the most. He was like a little brother to us all, now he wasn't.
"Niall take her away, we'll do something with Liam," Harry said and I screamed. Throwing a fit in the grass, failing my arms and kicking my legs. "Rose calm down," Harry yelled and I stopped and crumpled next to Liam. I sat on my elbow, and kissed his dead lips. I don't care, he was dead, and this was my last time with him. Niall picked me up, then carried me while I whimpered into his chest.
"Take me home," I said an Niall nodded.
We walked along in silence. I couldn't speak and I could tell Niall wanted to scream and yell, but he didn't for my sake.
"Wait up," the male from before yelled and I shot up looking at him. He tried handing Niall a pair of shorts and myself a t shirt and shorts. But Niall growled and put me down, shielding my body with his. "I'm only here to help, I won't hurt you or try and hurt you," he warmly smiled, and it a way it reminded me a Liam. An the way his smile was always genuine.
I nudged Niall, I wanted to be covered. I had been naked for so long, I just wanted the comfort of clothes. Niall grabbed the clothes from the man, handing me a pair of black shorts and a black shirt. I put them on behind Niall, and Niall slipped on his jogging shorts he had gotten from the kind stranger.
"Come with me if you want to see her," he said and turned back to where he came. I followed without hesitation. Niall huffed and placed his arm around me protectively as we followed the man. He took us to an old house. It reminded me of the house I was now calling home.
He silently opened the door and we followed him inside, the floorboards creaking every time we took a step. Then we walked down a long dark hallway, and were met with a large wooden door. I knew Iris was behind it, her scent was prominent.
"I'll let you alone, I'll be right outside the door if there is trouble," the man mumbled and I nodded I walked over to the bed where Iris laid. Part of me wanted to rip of her head and shove it in the ground for killing Liam, the other part of me wanted to hug her and comfort her because I know she didn't want to hurt him.
"Rose?" Her voice croaked and I only sat quietly by her bed, watching her as she turned in her bed restlessly. She gasped in pain and I knew he was hurt but I wasn't here for her or to tell her to come back. I was here to tell her she killed Liam.
"You killed him," I said bluntly, her eyes opened slowly, showing her bright eyes. They weren't blood red, they were like how they were when she was human.
"What?" She looked at me through hooded lashes. Fear apart of her features as she waited for me to respond. She shifted uncomfortably in the sheets of the her bed.
"Liam, you killed Liam,"
