Never Again: Chapter 61
Rose's POV
I was still in my wolf form as Niall laid me against our bed. I was too exhausted to turn human, and being human would mean talking with Niall and I didn't want that. I felt queasy because the bullets that were lined with wolfsbane. I was slipping in and out of sleep and I didn't know where Iris was. She must've ran off because her scent wasn't in the house.
Niall softly ran his hand over my head and I soften into his touch. I didn't want to see him, my wolf whined when Niall stopped touching me and moved to the end of the bed, grabbing a blanket and then draping it over my large wolf body.
Our room still smelled like cinnamon and apples from last night, and the lights were still strung from the headboard. That seemed like a world away, like a different person. I growled when I remembered Ronnie. I sure hope she was lying or kidding. I think I would break down and leave if she wasn't. It wasn't the fact that she had told me, it was the fact Niall never told me. But I had never asked because thinking of him with another girl was too painful.
Niall stiffened when I growled but I was in too much emotionally and physical pain to deal with him. I wish I never came to this town, I wish I had never say in the back of the damn math room. But Niall said he would have found me even if I wasn't in the class.
I remember the way he used to call me babe when we weren't dating, he would hesitate some. The way we used to joke in class or how he would sit with me at lunch and feed me grapes. I missed being a normal teenager. I missed my bed at home and sleeping the weekend away. This drama with the Daemons pack was making me crazy. But nothing was ever going to be the same, I was stuck like this for all eternity.
"I'll be back," Niall whispered and broke my train of thought. I whimpered in response and put my head on my paws. He kissed the side of my face, right by my eye and then left the room. I felt myself drift back to sleep, hopefully it would relive some of the pain I was feeling.
*********the next morning*********
I was still in wolf form, it was the longest I had ever been wolf and I liked my wolfs strength. Niall wasn't in the bed, but it was understandable since I was taking up the whole thing. I wasn't as sore as I was yesterday so I shifted back so I was human, my bones breaking and snapping. I grunted and sat, naked, on the bed. I pulled the blanket over my body and went to my dresser. I needed to shower, so I pulled out a graphic t shirt and a pair of jean shorts.
Once I was done showering, and was dressed I looked at the clock, it was only about 7 in the morning. The boys weren't usually up until 11. I groaned and wrapped my towel around my wet hair. I sniffed the air to see if Iris had come back but there was no trace of her in the air. I hope she was ok. I would go out and look for her if she's not back by 10.
As I walked down the steps a strange scent that was still vague invaded my nostrils. It wasn't foreign, it was just different. As I walked into the kitchen the scent became stronger. It was musky and manly, so I assumed it was a hunter. Their scent was everywhere, even in my room there was a faint scent of this husky smell. I took cautious steps into the kitchen, but I wasn't worried when I saw who it was.
Blake was standing over a pot of black coffee. He didn't hear me coming and I smiled, this was my chance to scare him. I don't know why but it just sounded appealing. I crept up behind him and grabbed his sides. He let out a high pitched scream and I began to laugh on the floor, the towel falling off my head in the process of falling to the floor.
"What the hell?!" He screamed and tried to catch his breath. He stared at me with eyes so wide I thought they would pop out of his head. "You scared the shit out of me," he yelled again, I saw a smile creep on to his mouth as I continued to laugh, he soon laughed with me.
