Never Again: Chapter 46

Rose's POV

Never in my wildest dreams have I ever thought that I would be running straight towards what could possibly end my life or Iris'. But that didn't stop me from keeping a steady pace as my paws pounded into the soft dirt.

I was doing this for Aden. Revenge never was my thing, though Aden seemed to be the exception. I owed him so much and the least I could do was revenge his death. Iris seemed to have the same idea as she stayed a few feet in front of me, leading the way by sniffing out the Daemons faint scent.

"What are we planning on doing once we get there?" I questioned Iris, still in my wolf form. I used my strong hind legs to propel myself so I was running beside Iris.

"Whatever needs to be done," she growled and I ignored her harsh tone. We stayed quiet except for the constant grunting and growling on Iris's part.

We seemed to have been being followed by the rest of our pack, Niall was about a quarter of a mile behind us because he couldn't match our pace, and I was almost certain the rest of the boys were farther than him behind us

We ran for about an hour and a half, not taking breaking or even stopping to catch our breath. Once the scent of the Daemons were very strong, Iris slowed to a trot and I did the same. We were waiting for the perfect time to attack.

Though I wasn't talking to her I knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to have them in pain for taking someone away from her. She wanted to inflict hurt on them like they had to her. She wanted them to suffer, and that's what she was intending to do. I, on the other hand, was not at all sure how I wanted to handle things.

I wanted to punish the wolves who took Aden away, I wanted to cause them suffering, but I didn't want to kill them.

We crept along the bushes about 20 feet away from the Daemons compound. It wasn't large, but a decent size. It was an old abandoned warehouse, uninviting and cold. Just like them. We laid against our stomachs, surely they could hear us approaching but they hasn't made a move. I couldn't focus on them talking because my head was throbbing and I felt the need to pass out, but I didn't.

A few moments later a large crash rang though to my ears and a man yelled.

"If you came here for a fucking fight, stop being cowards and come fight!" He was no more than a beta and he wasn't built to be speaking to a raging Iris the way he was. Soon Iris exposed herself to the beta, baring her teeth and showing the oozing black venom dripping from her fangs. The betas eyes turned black and he shifted into a partial wolf.

I jumped from my spot to join him but he didn't seem too surprised. I glanced behind his back, his alphas were watching him with a grim expression. I bared my teeth and snapped at him but he only laughed.

"Fucking bastard!" Iris screamed and and I heard a crack, and unnatural crack.

It was the Daemons betas legs snapping. He fell with a loud thud and he cried out in pain. I did want came natural to me. I used my bright red glowing eyes and I focused on his soul, looking at it within him. Seeing it was like looking into a black hole, he was nothing but evil, surly he would be ok if I took away the evil. But it wasn't him that was evil, it was his wolf. So I concentrated on stealing his wolf form. I could see everything, memories, conversations, feelings, I even felt pain.

I didn't know how I could feel such an intense rush of emotions, but I did. That's what made me want to take his wolf form even more. The Daemons wolf said Iris and I would do great things. I don't know if this was it but I sure didn't care. I was taking away something of theirs, I was taking apart of their pack just like they took away Aden.

Maybe I could extract his wolf like I extracted the venom when Iris bit one of our own. I focused on his core and imagined light, light to over take the darkness. The beta cried out again and to my horror his his wolf form was fleeing his body. His wolf form didn't like the light that I was imagining in him. He wanted the darkness, craved it. The beta cried again and then laid limp on the floor. I watched as his werewolf self hovered over his body then dissolved into thin air.

"Iris," I said in my head but it was too late, she lunged at him and sunk her teeth into his neck. The beta, or former beta, yelled and kicked his legs. She silenced him with on swift blow to the head and I gasped at her brutality.
