Taylor's P.O.V.

"Okay Tree, yes I understand. Okay, stop talking about it now!" I state as I walk into my apartment instantly feeling calm. I can hear Tree continuing to talk in the background but I am no longer listening. Instead all I can focus on is the large grin that is right across the room, staring me point blank in the face. "I'll talk to you later..." I state trailing off at the end as Karlie smiles at me. "Hi." I squeak so excited to see her that I'm frozen in place. "Hi baby, you doing okay?" I walk a little closer to her while nodding my head. "God I missed you." I state as I reach her, standing in front of her I watch her observe my movements. "Good, I missed you too baby." She states as her hands come up and grab my handbag carelessly tossing it onto the couch, narrowly missing a sleeping Meredith who simply sits up, glares evilly and walks away obviously to find somewhere else to sleep. "That's expensive watch it." I state watching my handbag bounce and teeter on the edge of the couch before toppling over, I waste no time in reaching up and whacking Karlie to show I'm not impressed but she only grabs my hand in mid-air. "Still not strong enough yet," she states as she pulls me close, obviously wanting a kiss but at the last minute I turn my head and her lips press onto my cheek. I fight to hold my laughter as she pulls back totally stunned by my action. "Did I miss something?" She questions, concerned as her eyebrows furrow like she is thinking hard about the time before she left for Milan for fashion week. I shake my head and then it erupts, my giggle. "Oh is that how this is going to work?" Karlie questions as her hands rise up like she is about to jump and scare a kid at Halloween. "Mhum." I state walking backwards as Karlie grins and walks closer towards me.
"Hmm, well I'm in the mood for a bit of exercise." She states lunging for me, but I expected it so I duck backwards but Karlie moves fast as I rush backwards, hitting my back on the doorframe but continuing out of the room and towards the stairs in the hallway. "Can't catch me now!" I sing as I rush upstairs, headed for the bedroom but I find the door shut and locked. 'What the hell?' I question trying the knob again. I hear a giggle and a jingle as I turn and see Karlie turn the corner holding the set of keys that I keep but don't use. All my friends know where is off limits and what isn't but I now realize what a mistake I made telling Karlie about the keys. Heaving I rush to the next door as Karlie casually walks towards me, turning I notice all the doors are locked so I decide to call a truce.

Turning and walking towards Karlie who stops and looks at me obviously confused due to me never backing down from a fight. I stop in front of her and sit down, taking off my boots and then my socks. Karlie just looks down at me probably deciding if I'm bluffing her or not. I wait for my moment and then it happens. She looks away from me and towards the window that points towards the quiet Nashville streets and I take my opportunity as I stand and quickly dash back towards the stairs. Rushing downstairs like a kid at Christmas time I stop at the bottom and turn to see Karlie laughing as she chucks the keys behind her, they hit the wall and slide to the ground but go no further. I struggle to stop laughing as Karlie frantically dashes after me, I don't even make it to the kitchen before I'm taken around the waist by two long arms and being carted off to the couch, I don't even attempt to fight it, knowing that Karlie is much stronger than me. "Where'd you rush off to?" Karlie whispers into my ear sending chills down my spine. "Nowhere, just wanted a bit of exercise?" I almost question as I say it, Karlie looks at me strangely before sitting back against the arm rest opposite me. "If you say so," she states as if she doesn't care as she reaches for my handbag which is now near the coffee table. Picking it up she hands it to me. "Thank-you." I state rustling through the handbag to find my phone which coincidently starts to vibrate rapidly in my hand 'Tree Calling' flashes up as I show it to Karlie who laughs, "better answer it. I'll go unlock all those doors." I smile as I answer to Tree and Karlie kisses my forehead on her way upstairs. "Yes Tree?" I question.
"You understand how important tonight is right?" She questions as I heave out a massive sigh. "Okay, I get it you know that but Taylor this is your career on the line if we can't keep this quiet."
"I get that Tree, but how long are we talking here? I've been keeping this quiet since I was sixteen. I'm twenty four nearly twenty five and I have to fight for every precious second I get to spend in private with Karlie. I don't want to wait much longer, I'm tired or lying." I state as I hear Tree breathing but letting me speak all I want to speak. "I get that Taylor; it's not my fault you've had to keep it a secret all this time. That was something decided before I got here. But now I'm governed to keep this going..." I sigh because I understand that every time someone hears my songs they picture me broken hearted over a guy, but little does anyone know that it's probably more likely to be a girl rather than the men I've dated that have been little 'projects' as they were once called by my last publisher. I know that I can't blame Tree because she is only doing her job but it doesn't make things any easier for me. "Can't you just, I don't know..."
"What?" Tree questions as I stop to think about what I'm trying to say.
"Can't she come to one show? Or an awards show with other friends. I just want her close to me." I state unhappily. I get the reasons why Karlie can't be seen with me and we always try to make our 'shopping trips' as undercover as possible but lately paparazzi has been out in full force so we have hardly seen each other which makes people think we are fighting which is drastically annoying because we aren't. "Look just hang in for another few months, six months at the most. I hear Cara Delevingne just came out last week so maybe not that long. She was a model with Karlie so you never know. But think about how this could affect Karlie too..." Tree states as my mind goes blank, I have never once stopped to think about what a scandal like being a lesbian could do to Karlie's career. "I know Tree. I'll think about it okay?" I question as Tree nods and reminds me to be on the carpet by 7.15pm at the latest, spend at least fifteen minutes there for photos and interviews before heading into my seat and being ready for the show by 7.45pm. I know that being late isn't an option and I know that Karlie will watch from here but I really want her there with me. I finally get off the phone with Tree and go in search of Karlie who is actually upstairs on our shared bed, when she stays over and petting Olivia who is purring really loudly.
