Karlie's P.O.V

"Come on love, we need to get up before the kids are up." I whisper against Taylor's ear, as she shivers and starts to wake up. Sitting up and rubbing her eyes exactly the way that Elliott does and it makes me smile that he's got some qualities that his mama taught him. He's so similar to Taylor and at times it's hard to believe that he was adopted and that his birth mother actually lives less than five miles from our apartment here in New York.

I remember how when we heard about the mother who was only young and didn't want her baby through the agency, I thought that it would be perfect for us, she wanted to remain anonymous and we've tried to maintain that and she comes over and visits sometimes. It works and she manages to always come when there are no paparazzi. She loves Elliott and helped us to name him when he was born as a screaming small six pound and ten ounce baby. But the moment that his birth mom, Pam handed him to us he was ours, he settled immediately and it was then that we promised that there would always be communication between us all, she loved that we sent her pictures of him and that she was able to watch him grow up but not have the financial burden of a baby in New York City. But he fits perfectly into our lives and Taylor is such a boss as mom to him, I try to be the fun one but usually I get told off before he does. Taylor likes to wrap him in bubble wrap and I love to watch her act like a mom. It's all I ever wanted to see her do since we got married.

"...arlie, are you listening to me?" Taylor states looking into my eyes. I notice her strong Tennessee accent is still there so I look at her and pretend to tip my hat like a cowboy and I say, "yes mam, what's up?" she swats at me and leaves the bedroom and I hear her footsteps on the stairs so I know that it's my turn to get Elliott up and bathe him before getting him ready for his first day of kindergarten. I also have to deal to the cats too, we call them our babies so they are referred to as children too. But to be honest they sit and lay around like real people anyway so it makes sense. I dress in a pair of pyjama pants and tug a jersey over my singlet. Not that Elliott would care whether I wear pants or not but still, it's proper.

Walking down the hallway to his door that's covered in stickers of cars and such I push the door open and see him stirring so I decide to let him wake naturally. He hates to be woken so I leave him and let him wake by himself. I busy myself running his bath in the bathroom next door and then going in and opening the curtains and then as I go to the closet he's next to me. His eyes are barely open but he's up. "Morning champ, how's my boy today?"
"Good mama, bath time?" I nod and he walks to the door and starts to lift his shirt, I laugh and walk after him, by the time I reach him he's attempting to get his pyjama pants off and with a little assistance he's settled in the bath tub. "Just a little play, mama's going to get your stuff ready." He nods and returns to the car and boat he's playing with.

An Hour Later...

"Come on babe, it's literally a ten minute walk to drop him off. Let's just do it. No one is there now." I state trying to persuade Taylor to walk Elliott like a normal kid to kindergarten. "I'm not sure..."
"Well I am, so let's go. What do you say Elliott? Wanna walk?" He nods and grabs his backpack and so Taylor rolls her eyes and grabs her coat and Elliott's hat as he's got his jacket on already. But almost as soon as we start walking I notice and hear the familiar snapping sound, Elliott moves closer and says, "mama the cameras..." I look at Taylor who has a scowl on her face and I know I'm gonna wear it later on. "I know bud, but just ignore it." He nods bravely and starts chatting away to Taylor but as a pedestrian crossing stops us with a red light the paparazzi catch up to us and Elliott becomes closer and closer which is fine but they're getting really close. I ask them to step back but they don't and then Taylor cuddles Elliott closer and they still continue to get closer. All of a sudden the lights change and we take off Elliott runs to thinking it's a game but as we get a little further on I see our security step out of the car that had been following us. Everyone climbs in and Taylor looks at me and says, "no more of your silly ideas Karlie." Elliott looks up and says,
"Yeah mama," before dissolving in to a fit of the giggles and making me laugh a lot as we laugh together. "Okay baby, mama's sorry." I state kissing his head and Taylor's lips but then I stop and say, "at least we'll have some professional pictures of Elliott's first day of kindergarten." She looks at me and says, "oh haha."
